Good Morning. It's Thursday 24th October, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Leeds complete Guilavogui deal Leeds have announced the signing of French midfielder Josuha Guilavogui, after passing a medical at Thorp Arch yesterday afternoon Guilavogui has showcased his talent in both Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga, notably, at Wolfsburg where he spent nine seasons, featuring in over 200 games, and eventually taking on the role of club captain. Predominantly, he plays as a defensive midfielder, but can also fill in at centre-back if needed. His short term deal will take him to the end of the season where it will be reviewed! Guilavogui hasn't played competitively since last season, but Daniel Farke has been impressed with both his competency and work rate during his week long trial. please log in to view this image I will be back - Ramazani Largie Ramazani will miss Saturdays trip to Bristol City after rolling his ankle during the 2-1 midweek win against Watford. The 23yo managed an eventful 14 minutes of game time before hobbling off in obvious discomfort. His speculative edge of the area strike after just 120 seconds, had put the Whites ahead after catching Daniel Bachmann on the hop. This was his third goal of the campaign in just 436 minutes of game time. Manor Solomon was bought on as a like for like replacement, though Farke admitted in his post match presser that he would have preferred more of a cameo appearance (for Solomon) so soon after returning from injury. The Israeli International was understandably a little ring rusty, and was widely criticised on social media as being sub-par. Yesterday, Ramazani took to his Instagram account defiantly claiming 'I will be back'. The statement more or less guarantees a spell on the side-lines, and with the trip to Bristol City looming, is Solomon ready to start? please log in to view this image Firpo banned for Bristol City clash Junior Firpo will miss the trip to Ashton gate after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season against Watford on Tuesday evening. The 28yo is becoming some what of a cult figure at Elland Road after defying the boo boys, and finally coming good. His forward play down the left flank has earnt him rave reviews on social media, and caught the eye of several top European clubs. Daniel Farke must decide whether to give Isaac Schmidt his first start of the season, or rely on the experience of Sam Byram. Schmidt has only played nine minutes of game time since signing from St Gallen on transfer deadline day nearly two months ago. please log in to view this image
Morning all, I think we will see Dan James come in for Ramazani. They are more closely matched pace wise. While I would like to see what Schmidt is like you know what you get with Byram and is the safe choice for one match while Firpo is out. Is it a positive that Firpo got his fifth yellow before Rodon and Bogle? With them all close to the limit is it better that one of the back four is now reset? Imagine if Rodon or Bogle had also been booked the other night? The squad would be looking mighty thin again.
Morning all Solomon got a longer than anticipated run out on Tuesday night, I would start James on the left and Solomon on the bench, swap James out on the hour mark, you would hope then that both James and Solomon would be nearing full match fitness. I agree with hemase too, Byram is the safe option, in an ideal world we will be a couple of goals up and Schmidt can come on in the second half and gain some valuable minutes. Farke needs to keep a close eye on the next couple of games, if Rodon gets booked before Bogle, consider getting Bogle off, we really could do with Rodon avoiding a yellow for a couple of weeks until the new guy gets up to speed a bit more.
Doesn’t James normally play on the right? Would that mean swapping over with Gnonto? Only asking because Farke isn’t one to tinker much, which was why Solomon was a straight replacement for Ramazani. Afternoon all by the way.
Afternoon to you Under Bielsa and I think for Swansea, I'm sure James was played on the left, I seem to remember Gnonto playing on the left too, I think they are both more than capable of playing both sides.
You’re right both can play on either wing, my point was Farke doesn’t seem to be the type to shift players around from his preferred setup so he may go with Solomon again.
Agree with what you say. The squad depth will be sorely tested with injuries and suspensions but it will also give us an idea of how we cope under duress. Hopefully we can build on what we are doing.
Quick question. I want two tickets which are sat together. If I enter the ballot, for two tickets, will they be guaranteed to be together? Tickets will be for me and my son and he won't sit by himself.
