We made hard work of that in the end, after the goals we made some shocking decisions and efforts in front of goal but… at least we created chances
A welcome win but it shouldn't have been that difficult. We let them back into the game and we were poor in the second half.
Well that first 15-20 Mins of the 2nd half got me a bit worried but we turned it around after not dominant but turned the tide. still by the end of the half we really should have had 3 goals. Piroe pansy shot , Joseph pansy header and Dan James not rolling a tap in for Joesph. 3 points is 3 points on to the next one
We lost the plot at the start of the second half, but the subs helped us get back on top and they never really threatened again - sometimes you have to win ugly
Out of the 9 top positions with us being one of them so its 8 only team we have not played is Blackburn and we play the current 9th team on Satda. funny how thats worked out eh in 11 games
Meslier - 5. Back to his flappy best. Makes me nervous. Bogle - 7. Growing in to his role after a slow start at the club. Got forward and was decent at the back. Rodon - 7. Fairly solid down the right side. Won alot of headers. Struijk - 5. Largely outmuscled by Baah. Stood square on and was static for the Watford goal which was dreadful defending. Firpo - 5. Got an assist but rolled back the years with his pathetic defending. Scarily bad at the back, okay going the other way. Tanaka - 9. Held everything together. Remained calm, kept the ball and was head and shoulders the man of the match. Rothwell - 6. Never really got going but still had some good moments. Seemed to be outmuscled and outplayed for the most part by Sissoko. Aaronson - 7. Got a goal, was busy, pressed well, kept possession fairly well with some nice footwork. Overall a decent night. Gnonto - 7. Mixed bag. Had real classy moments but also some overhit passes in there too. Could have easily come away with a couple of goals. Ramazani - n/a. A really positive start albeit an element of fortune to the goal. Went off injured. Hopefully it won't be long term. Piroe - 4. Pressed about as well as I've seen him. Held the ball up on occasion but missed a glorious chance and just wasn't at the races. Subs. Solomon - 6. Looked rusty. Good minutes as he played 80 minutes. Tried to get shots in but just lacked a bit of sharpness. James - 7. A really good cameo forcing a save and creating a great chance to Joseph. Great 20 minute spell. Joseph - 7. Turning in to Bamford mark II. Great effort, great running, good hold up play but catastrophic finishing. Byram - n/a. Injury time sub. Farke - 7. Got the three points, subs made a difference. He doesn't miss the chances or let players run past without a challenge.
