The whining from the Wolves bench is absolutely delicious.

Deserved win for the lads. Played some tidy stuff there. Thought Anderson and Johnson were solid at the back

Good result hard earned by a team in transition.

Sunderland AFC Under-21s took the top spot in Group D with a 2-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in Premier League Cup action.
Marshall Burke grabbed the opening goal with an excellent first-time finish on the brisk of half time before Abdoullah Ba wrapped up the three points with a late strike.
Trey Ogunsuyi returned to the side following his spell on international duty with Belgium U19s. Ben Crompton also featured after a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
The visitors nearly took an early lead as frontman Dani Angel had a close-range effort brilliantly palmed away by the outstretched Dan Cameron in the opening proceedings.
The Lads started to find their rhythm with two big chances at the mid-way point of the first half. Rhys Walsh with the first, driving through on goal before being denied by Lewys Benjamin in the Wolves net. Joe Anderson next stepped up sending a low effort just past the post.
The Black Cats reaped the reward for their attacking threat with the opening goal coming two minutes before the break. A smart corner routine saw Burke’s first-time effort from the edge of the area nestle into the corner of the net.
Chances came few and far between in the second half with Graeme Murty’s side controlling Wanderers’ threat.
Timur Tutierov was re-introduced, replacing Rhys Walsh after a long-term injury and could have had an immediate impact. Wolves defender, Fil Mabete, nicked the ball away from the Ukrainian international at the last moment to deny a strike on goal.
In the final moments, Sunderland was reduced to ten men as Ogunsuyi was given his second yellow of the evening, kicking the ball away during a stoppage.
The clash was wrapped up in the final minute when Ba ran through on goal before confidently slotting the ball past Benjamin to double the lead.
Despite Wolves having the extra player, a continuous spell of strong defending earned the hosts a further three points in Group D, securing a fourth straight victory in a row.
SAFC: Cameron, Crompton (Lavery 45), Anderson, Johnson, Bennette, Burke (Mitchell 750, Middlemas, Jones, Walsh (Tutierov 70), Ba, Ogunsuyi
    Unused subs: Richardson, Kindon
