Definitely a foul though! I didn’t think it was a red and I was sat in the south stand in those days!!

Our defensive play is outstanding, Mepham has been a quality addition and we just look so much calmer when under pressure, he just doesnt panic and it rubs off on the other players. Jobe, Dan & Rigg are playing with confidence knowing they have a red and white wall behind them. The organising is great from Mepham as well he is talking the young lads through the game in front of him, its a joy to see. A striker that needs 1 chance to score is obviously helping and long may it continue. Its been a long day at work after my session yesterday but it was worth it.

Mepham is class like. So calm and always seems to be in the right place. I think Ballard is excellent but doesn't always have the level of calmness that Mepham does. Instantly improved the team and hopefully we are looking to make it permanent.

Ballard is solid, a massive competitor but chaotic and reckless. Not a patch on Mepham. It’ll do him the world of good watching him and at some point playing with him, but I truly think 09 deserves his place ahead of Ballard and Mepham first choice.

I thought Mundle was really quiet yesterday. Roberts was wasteful but not for lack of trying to make something happen. I remember thinking when I was watching that Clarke would’ve been brilliant in this system that wouldn’t have been so reliant on him. He thrived when he could run at teams who weren’t sitting on the edge of their box and were seeing less of that this season. Not saying Mundle cant be mind.

Aleksic must be itching to get on the pitch. A little surprised he’s warmed the bench for 6 full games now

I thought it was the perfect game to switch our wingers a couple of times …

… it can’t affect us too much but can really confuse defenders.

Agree with all of this. I think as it stands 09 is just ahead of Ballard on form. I thought Ballard was a bit poor in the last few games he played.

Plenty said about Mepham being a step up before he played. I am not a football fan in the sense I sit and watch anyone so I know very little outside SAFC. So I'm glad to see now how good in is and that calmness makes all the difference. Can see already he will be class at this level and I hope we are trying to turn it permanent in January. Be class if it's done and announced very early!

Could get away with just RB cover then?

Thought we cut a frustrating figure yesterday, pissing about with the ball in the middle and losing it cheaply on a number of occasions. Our brightest stuff was on the right yet Roberts and Rigg both cut in and Drameh had that covered. Felt Jobe should've swapped with Rigg at times to take advantage of it.

Roberts, as has been said, just needs to get to the byeline sometimes.

Mundle was poor yesterday, his worst game for us I felt. Considering both he and Roberts weren't on song, we've done really well to win. Jobe was his usual self, Rigg was quiet, Neil was good in the first half and okay in the second.

Mepham was clear for MOTM, never seen anything like him since big Unit Kaboul.

Be nice to see him and Ballard play together some time, as good as O'Nien is in the build up.

That goal was special weren't it?

Definitely need to take advantage of Isidor's poaching ability, balls through when possible and low crosses. Gotta try Browne on Wed.

Also feel like we are due to see Aleksic given the excitement around his ability!

He's been brilliant. it shows the massive gulf between prem and championship. We've all raved about Ballard for months but Mepham looks even better and can't get into a pretty average Premier league team. He's only 18 months older than ballard as well. Can't see ballard getting into team if o9 and Mepham fit but its a good problem to have

I was pleased when Mepham signed because he can play RB comfortably …

… the trouble is, would you switch him and have O’Nien and Ballard in the centre

Personally I don’t think he would be as adventurous as Hume but it might free up Cirkin a bit more.

And then there’s Alese to consider <laugh>

Personally I would go O/9 / Mepham / Ballard / Cirkin if Hume gets a suspension.

Interestingly O'Nein, Cirkin and Isidor were the highest rated players yesterday according to Flash Score. I know it's all about opinions but O9 100% deserves to be starting each game with currently, he is perfect for the setup we have. It's up to the others to fight for it and take their chance when it comes.

I actually think Mepham has improved O9 this season and its possible the same will happen if Ballard gets a chance allongside him which he no doubt will over the course of the season.

Did their manager mention when Madley almost tackled Neil, which made him lose the ball, but Hull were too **** to capitalise on it?

apologies for being a bit behind most but eventually sat and watched again just to see exactly what did happen.

now if that hand ball was given i would have no complaints, while obviously not a deliberate attempt to alter the direction of the ball, it did just that, probably the only thing i can think is that the ref/linesman did not see it clearly.

as for that corner, dear me where do i start...have seen all the replies and was wondering why the hull lot were stubbornly sticking to that 'ref got in the way' story yet there it is as clear as you want, firstly the ref took a basically standard position with at least 5 yards of space around him, the hull player for some reason ran straight up to the ref (he did well to get out of the way to be fair) then turned himself into trouble and lost the ball.

sorry hull lads but why on earth did the first lad play the ball directly at the ref (big lad with day-glo top on) surely either they have different routines or...the only other reason i can think for all the anger is that the ref was included in the rehearsal and he forgot his lines which brings up a whole new argument.
