    Wayne Rooney:

"Sometimes you hold your hands up but what I can't accept is we didn't do the basics of the game, and we have got so many fans who have come and supported us."

*it's not nice when you come in after a game like that, a performance like that, a result like that. It's very difficult for us to find any positives whatsoever.

In all honesty Janners, You need to look at Cardiff since Bulut was sacked, for playing dreadful tactics and football, now we are playing as we should and we will finish above Guzz come the end of the season, Man for Man Cardiff are better than Plymouth, Your goalkeeper was your man of the match which puts it into context for you all. It will be a long season for you guys and gals, Look forward to coming down to Plymouth in the new year, we always stay in the Duke of Cornwall if anyone fancies a pint and talk football. Good Luck but i think you will do well to stay up. Great support as always from the Janners but some of you need a reality check, especially half of you leaving after you went 2 down. High expectations from you but on paper it was never going to happen for you. Rose tinted glasses and all that.

Yes except of course we watch Argyle every week. The game at your place was not Argyle at anything like their best as a team or as individuals and that's been borne out by interviews by the captain and the manager. We've suffered 2 games like that: Saturday and the opening day against Sheffield Wednesday. In all the others, we've been there or thereabouts even when the results have gone against us.

What we do have, and have had for quite a while, is a big imbalance between our results at home and away. We thrashed Blackburn in our preceding match at Home Park on 5th of October (54% possession, 17 shots to their 7, 40 touches in their box v 25). I put it down to naivety and we've really got to be more street-wise away from home.

Not sure I've seen a more patronising post than our welsh contributor. He has seen us once this season and makes a huge leap on the back of that. Cardiff have won one game this season so far and to take so much from that one game is brave to say the least. We already know we were crap on Saturday and indeed have said so in numerous ways. Fact though is we were crap which actually doesn't make Cardiff the new Barcelona because they took advantage of it. We will lose more matches for sure this season. Whether we lose more than Cardiff do is not really any safe bet on the back of one game. What I don't need from a once off visitor is somebody who thinks they know more about Argyle than we do.

No and you and I both know that if we'd played at our best, we'd have had the three points. It was our failure to deliver rather than their brilliance that won them the game.

Plus of course the sending-off which their two players will be pleased they made happen. I said we need to more street-wise and that's the type of thing we're up against unfortunately.

I wouldn't go so far as to say we would have had the three points notdistant but I would say that at our best or even 80% best we would not have lost 5 - 0. The sending off was the biggest turning point of the game even though we were 2 down at the time. Cisoko was to blame himself for what happened. He fell on the floor like he had been kicked by a donkey. Maybe an apt description of the Cardiff player. However, when the ball was kicked at him he miraculously recovered and was able to regain his feet in a nano second and go for the throat. Clearly he wasn't really that hurt in the first place. But, the foul on him was worthy of a yellow and kicking the ball at him whilst on the ground is violence in any context and therefore should have received the same outcome. Ng though also collapsed on the throat contact as if he had been attacked by the Boston Strangler. I do not condone our player for feigning or over egging injury and I don't condone their player either. I hate all this play acting that goes on now and it's not surprising fans sing "bring on the dustbin" rather than show empaty for an injured man. The recovery rate of those that fall down and stay there is beyond belief and I'm convinced the second coming has already happened with the magic sponge people around these days. It truly must be a miracle.

But where was the team that beat Blackburn so convincingly? Or the one that beat Sunderland?

The drastic turnaround definitely didn’t come from Cardiff suddenly being several times better than those two. But we did play them at home.

I also watched the post-match press conference with Randell and Wayne Rooney appearing for the defence.

There were multiple questions about the stark contrast between our results at home and away over the past couple of seasons. There was talk of travel schedules, training in the lead-up to away games and so on. The obvious issue of the massive distances we have to travel compared to other teams was not really mentioned. I don’t think it’s any of those any way. We just need to do what all the other teams do. Start away games more conservatively. That’s what Derek Adams would do, although to be fair, he did it at home as well and for 90 minutes if he could! Or is it the effect of the Home Park crowd? Surely not.
