I said before I think they have already decided to stick with RM even if , as seems very likely on current form , we get relegated .
They will expect him to get us back up again .

I've already stated **** it let's all stick together and see what happens.

I couldn't give a toss about beating Derbys record. We already have the 9-1s, the fastest goal, the fastest hat trick, let's add this to the list. We are a more interesting club than most others in terms of interesting events!

I just feel that it will click and when it does, it could be glorious!!

I genuinely don't even think he's on the precipice yet in the eyes of SR. The crowd haven't even turned yet despite the latest pathetic collapse on Saturday, even if that was probably partly due to the referee taking the focus off RM. There was definitely less applause at the final whistle than normal, but still some around where I sit at least. The boos were noticeably for the referee as they really intensified when the officials walked off the pitch. If the game had gone differently and we'd been losing for longer that may have been different. Think if we go behind earlier against Everton we might finally start to hear sounds against RM.

Well to be honest as a club we seem to get this very wrong more often than not, it is cynical and bit 'Eeyore-like' but I would imagine those that make the decisions will leave it too late and then we'll get exactly the wrong fit in.

    As it ever was.

The only real effect it has on me is I don't look out for the scores on Saturday when I'm busy with something else, Saints is almost guaranteed a loss and all the other teams? Well if we keep losing it doesn't matter what they do.

Regarding the potential double compensation danger of appointing a new manager now, I feel that this situation warrants a "Keep us up and we'll pay you £Xm" type of contract anyway. Did West Ham not do that with Moyes initially before making him permanent? If only he were available..... It's worth bearing in mind that the average tenure of a manager these days can't be much longer than 18 months or so anyway (complete guess but feels right) so in an industry where cash is king, getting someone to come in all guns blazing to see if they can pull off a miracle shouldn't really be that hard. They only stand to benefit reputationally and financially by joining as I don't think you'll find a neutral fan in the country who expects us to stay up.

I'll remain thankful to RM for (scraping us) that promotion but I'd be lying if I said I was ever convinced by him or his style and now that I no longer look forward to watching Saints, my finger is pointed squarely at the tedious, pedestrian and suicidal style he defends so belligerently. I just don't want him here any more.

I admire your optimism, but I sense that no change is more likely for at least 3/4 games and knowing our luck, with 26 games to play, it’ll be too little too late, especially if Saturday is the template for RM’s remaining games, with precious few if any added points and a GD both conspiring to offer us another year in the Championship.

I know results have been shocking but it is too early to panic. As it stands we are only 3 points from 17th place. When it is around 9 points or more then I may feel different but until then I'm not.

But then it will be too late for a change to make the desired impact. We need to make the change now while we haven't been cut adrift.

True but it is still a risk either way. We had 3 managers the last time we were in the Prem and we still went down nothing improved.

This is the thing, trying to build a team and get results at the same time in the PL is not easy but Russell has also made some in game errors that have resulted in lost points too.
I'll go with whatever SR decide to do right now but the next appointment if it comes will probably have to be another possession based manager considering the players we have at the club now.
I think that the first half on saturday showed that he is ready to adapt but the substitions were wrong and the sending off killed us.

This may seem unpopular but I still think we should have stuck with Selles and let him build his own squad . He did an unbelievable job at Reading last season keeping them up in league one with little if any money to spend.

See that a previous ITK poster on SW has said that we have approached a manager who has yet to accept, or turn down the job? Says that he has never heard of this manager which would rule out the linked Eustace from Blackburn (thank god).
Personally I think that any manager won’t want city away being there first game so after a good tonking by them on Saturday, I think it will be bye bye RM?

Sheffield Wednesday are struggling a bit this season, but wonder if we may go back to look at Danny Rohl.

If we had appointed someone decent instead of Nathan ****ing Jones, we probably still could have stayed up.

I am with you 100%. However, what I will say is that 7-9 points adrift at the bottom of the table is easier to close down than 7-9 point at the top of the table. Teams are at the bottom as they are crap, so 2-3 wins on the trot and you are back in it. At the top you could win 10 games and not make a dent in it.

You do have to win those 2-3 game though lol.

That’s the conundrum, why does he/coaches etc get the subs so wrong? At 65 mins we’re looking ok, then to quote a fellow poster, ‘well we know what’s happening next!’ And it did. Baffles me that this happens when subs are the wrong ones or too late.

Agree Jones was a crap appointment. As regards to staying up unfortunately we will never know.
