Maybe because we were paying him to be a piss head / druggie when he should have been the goalscorer we so desperately needed? (As much Roseniors fault too I guess for taking him on when he knew what he was). ?
He still scored nine goals for us last season and would maybe have scored and played more if he hadn't been clobbered by the Norwich keeper.
Drameh - tried to drive us forward, especially first half Hughes - solid home debut Simons - thought he held the midfield together well in general I'd say Madley should be relegated to the Conference league - but that's tough on the teams down there
Yep. Exactly. Just think what might have been if he'd been the professional footballer we were paying him to be.
Hughes Coyle Puerta Madley was one of the most inept referees I’ve seen, following City since 1954! Relegation to the non league would be an insult to grass root footballers.
Hughes - looked class Bedia - made a real nuisance of himself. Should score regularly once he gets his confidence Simons - some essential blocks in the second half
Hughes Puerta Coyle On reflection, not enough individuals stood out today. Hughes was the clear MOTM by a distance I thought. Puerta was good but had faded by the time he went off. Coyle just performed to his usual reliable standard. None of the attacking players did enough when they had chances to do so. I thought Drameh had a really mixed game. He did some things brilliantly, but had some really daft moments too. Absolutely chopping their man down when we had them pressed into their corner was properly stupid. Chasing down their goalscorer the length of the pitch, getting goal side and then immediately letting him past again was bizarre. And in the first moments he gifted them the ball not far from our goal, which I swear he's done two or three times in the very opening moments of games now.
You've spent a fortnight moaning about an ex Norwich player being abused, yet here you are calling an ex City player a piss head and a druggie...
I thought he was on a pay as you play contract? Rosy knew of his problems, and they were rightly kept in house, but the reason he wasnt offered a permanent contract was because he still had them, surely?
Don't think it's ever been suggested he was on a pay as you play deal. I suspect those hardly ever happen these days.
