not so sure mesel (mind, i am a sh1te judge of coachs/managers) he certainly has the team working to something, his tactic today seemed to allow our lads to play around and restrict us then change it in the second half and come at us, probably thinking we would continue to try and pass it around and get caught...so his team are listening and acting on what he says but now they need to listen to what he tells them about 'the final ball when struggling'. he does seem very emotional mind...but it was like it is...
When he set off I wasn't the least bit excited, I never thought he'd score ... ... by the look of our supporters no one else did until he chipped it in
Can't understand why their defender didn't take one for the team 25 yards out. At least they might still have got a point with ten men, he was never going to catch him and tackle within the laws of the game.
I quite liked the look of that Hughes for them mind. Wasn’t watching him closely cos had my eyes on us but what I remember of him he seemed to do well
he DID eventually catch him though, it was then a brilliant couple of touches in the box to get away from him again. Unreal
But once he was in the box it was too late, I’m not distracting from Wilson’s finish which was superb If he’d brought him down in the box is that not a penalty and straight red?
Not sure on that. Is the double jeopardy rule still applicable? If the defender makes a genuine attempt for the ball but brings the attacker down then a penalty would be awarded, however a red card would not be applied, only a yellow. If the defender made no attempt for the ball, for example a shirt pull and brought down the attacker then a penalty and a red card would be applied. I must confess that this is probably a few years out of date but that's as I recall the rule.
Comes across to me as a pound shop Jürgen Klopp. Watched it on TV and every time the camera panned to him he was all gesticulations and moaning about something. Then his petty I terview at the end was just like Klopp when things didn't go his way If he's not shook RLB hand at the end it shows him to be classless as well.
I thought he came across as a grade A bellend and that was before I heard he wouldn't shake Regis' hand. Embarrassing. We're lucky to have classy people at our club from top to bottom.
I've noticed something, over the last few games, that's a little strange. Our goalkeeping coach, Alessandro Barcherini, is briefing subs and on his feet to welcome players coming off. He was using the company ipad to run through what was expected from Connolly for example. I'll be keeping an eye on this, RLB clearly encourages it so he must have more to his role than coaching the keepers. Interesting, as RLB would say ....
The camera focused on him when one of Hulls moves broke down. He was shaking his head and being OTT,camera then went to our gaffer, sat there cool as f**k making a few notes. I said yesterday during the game that their manager was a knacker.
Régis Le Bris praised Chris Mepham after the Sunderland loanee produced another excellent display at Hull City on Sunday afternoon. “It’s certainly not difficult to manage this type of player," Le Bris said. "He plays for the team, he has very good experience and is very important in the dressing room and on the pitch, individually and with the others. It is like a gift for a coach and a team like us. His maturity is very helpful for us." Le Bris was also full of praise for Wilson Isidor after his superb individual goal proved to be the difference between the two sides. Isidor now has three goals in four starts since moving into the centre forward role and the Sunderland head coach says there is still much more to come from the Frenchman. “He took the goal very well," he said. "The journey a player goes on can be very unpredictable, but when he signed, I knew he was versatile. I knew he could play as a left winger, a right winger or as a striker. I always knew playing as a striker was a possibility for him. He has that quality to eat the space. He can run, run and run. Then, at the end, he kept his concentration to deal with the goalkeeper and produce the finish. It was a brilliant goal. “I’m pleased with how he has started. He has lots of qualities, and has shown he can play at this level. He also has many elements to develop, and when you have qualities and a willingness to improve, and you know you can improve many elements in your game, that is good for the future." Isidor is beginning to look like an inspired piece of recruitment for the Black Cats after their well documented striker issues last season and Le Bris is hopeful that it will continue to work out for all parties. “There is always competition for good players - maybe we had an advantage because I knew him before," he said. "I was connected with his story and his environment. It’s still a question of confidence with a player, with a coach and with a club as well. Sunderland is a big club and, for him, it is a new step in his career. He wanted to go back into Europe, and Sunderland is very important for him, I think. The link between us maybe made the difference. It’s not always a question of money, it is a question of creating the right environment to learn. I think Wilson is like that. He wants to learn and improve, and give his best for the team. He felt that feeling during our conversations." https://www.sunderlandecho.com/spor...0zIQ_aem_wVLEuyy-CstyFkRx3v_YsA&sfnsn=scwspmo
He was near us. We were calling him Mr Angry from about 15 mins. His resting face is outrage. I said after our goal it was classic last season Sunderland. One interception and a free run on goal.
