Yes Mepham MotM for me also, he reads the game so well and gets around the park for a big bloke, Dan Neil a close second. Coyle for them had a good game, he always seems to impress when we play them.
Anyone think our new defensive coach had much of a hand in our clean sheet today? Or was it just Hull were sh1te in front of goal.
The oddest statement the Hull manager made was the referee should have researched their set piece routines so that he didnt stand there. I have never heard such silliness before. The referee is quite within his rights to find the best position for him in order he can do his job. No doubt the same manager would say he was in the wrong position if he didnt give himself a good view and missed a penalty. It was a sequence of poor decisions by his players. The only Hull person that gets any credit is their captain. He had a calm conversation with the ref, listened to his explanation and seemed to accept it in good grace.
Mepham is quick. But his reading of the situation always gives him a headstart and his positioning is excellent. He really has made a huge difference imo to our side.
No, unfortunately. Mepham was interviewed a couple of weeks ago and when he was asked about next season he said Bournemouth hold an option so he will need to wait and see.
They all absolutely love it... https://x.com/SunderlandAFC/status/1848048568541552792?t=9xD8N5py2P5LzsjjXoofFg&s=19
I heard him say that as well FellTop, absolute stupidity. I initially thought it was his unfunny German humour but he repeated it when asked to clarify.
Great reading the thread back. No radio coverage so had to rely on updates on talk sport. The reporter at the game was very complimentary about us all game and reading these comments seems to tie in with what he was reporting. Has a nice ring to it doesn't it "Sunderland are top of the league" Haway the lads
I love Trai me. I'm sure there was a goal a few weeks back and he was telling someone to **** off as well . He's this generations Chris Makin.
