Think you are looking at it from the wrong angle They will realise that Arsenal have now dropped points Realise that it’s us next Give them Saliba back and screw us over next week This giving City the edge in the league But it’s all good We gonna chuck tomorrow’s game to screw the FA’s plan up and leave the Chavs ready to pounce on any City slip up
Given the var and ref apparently agreed it was a red are we really saying a supposedly independent panel has more expertise that two prem referees. Oh wait....
Yeah, one game that. It's like handball on the line to stop a goal, or a goalie coming outside his area and grabbing the ball in a goalscoring opportunity like Ally did against Brighton some seasons back (or Pope did against us). Did seem harsh that far out though.
Keep it quiet I thought it was a harsh red Went down soft and a few that could have covered If that had been given against us I would be livid but if we are beneficiary- I am happy
Last man. Cynical knew what he was doing no other defenders around keeper no where near it Had to be a red for me.
I really dislike the fact that you guys could be right Nothing against you both at all just an indication of how the game has gone - for me that contact was minimal - I think the forward felt the touch and went straight down not so sure on cynical could easily have been just grabbing a player but like I say barely a touch imho Based on that there should be a pen given following every single corner you look at games where players get away with tugging at shirts - i think it is close to no contact if that is the yardstick yesterday and you guys are correct (which I suspect you could be)
Pragmatism comes into it. You're right about the things that go on at set-pieces, but there's too much from both sides for all but the most blatant, or crucial, to be penalised. Yesterday's was a clear-cut incident (irrespective of whether you think the red card was right) so it's a decision for the ref to make. Football is rife with rules and conventions that aren't entirely fair, but make the game playable. I've said often enough that I think the offside law is flawed, and there's the situation where a defender is allowed to shepherd the ball out without playing it, whilst clearly obstructing an attacker - or penalties not given when it's a foul anywhere else on the pitch. Or several other things. Yesterday, the foul (arguably soft) prevented a clear run on goal - therefore a goal-scoring opportunity. No-one else was getting near them and distance to goal doesn't matter. A clear red, by the rules, as far as I'm concerned.
The funny part is Arsenal fans claiming there is a conspiracy; he was sent off to help Liverpool apparently
In fairness, since I watched it again a couple of times I have to point out one huge factor I hadn't considered - the goalie is 35 metres off his line. If the Bournemouth player gets to the ball first - and he does before any other player catches him - he has a great chance of lobbing the keeper before he can get back. So on reflection, despite it being a long way out, and probably another defender may have caught him before he got into the box, the goal being that far out does make it a goalscoring opportunity. One thing for sure - it won't be rescinded on review.
It's not offside, but how is it not a foul? The little **** doesn't just block him, he bumps into him deliberately and stops him coming to get the ball. Diabolical.
Wolves should have had a foul prior to then getting the flurry of corners at the end. Plus, the Wolves poster didn't touch the ball for the first of that sequence of corners either.
