****ing hell, supporting this team is a challenge. This is our tenth season in the championship and we have never finished higher than 9th in the last 9 seasons, mostly much lower and at least twice only escaped the drop by a whisker. It’s monotonous and miserable. If we are lucky enough to escape again this season it won’t be a success it will be a failure of huge proportions, yet another no progress year. We are in about the same position as we were under Ainsworth last year, except he had won one more game! A couple more losses on the trot and he was toast. Cifuentes should be ****ting himself, and quite rightly. Im going on Tuesday and one of my neighbours plays for Cov, so we better ****ing win.
That is the 'it's a marathon' perspective. True but still hard to swallow after an afternoon like that.
Yes he had a big task when he came in, but I'm struggling to find any progression. The recruitment has been awful and we find ourselves in the same position as we was under Ainsworth
Love my team but have question my sanity if I’m to schlep from North London, after a long working day, next Tuesday evening (probably in the pi55ing rain) to watch what is palpably presently the worst team in the league, lose at home, again.
QPR head coach Marti Cifuentes told BBC Radio London: "I've been doing this job for 20 years and have been through some difficult situations but this is not the most difficult. "We spoke in the summer that it could take some time and today is a good example. "We started well, scored early and had more chances but then we concede and we lost momentum in the second half. Thoughts?
He also said - "This is not a time to panic." Sounds like he's talking to the Board or trying to convince himself
I don't see currently how anyone can think we will start picking up points soon and everything will be all right. No matter what side we put out we can't do the basics. We can't mark, we can't defend, we can't keep the ball, we constantly make suicidal passes, we p*ssball about at the back constantly, we can't take throw-ins properly, we have a side with too many under-size players, we lose most 50-50 balls, we have no muscle in midfield, we are still too slow, we have bought too many totally ineffectual players. I don't go for the 'give them all time to settle in' palaver either. They've been here for months and still play like A) they've never met each other before and B) they still can't take in what a championship match entails. Apart from Nardi and glimpses from Dembele and Saito what have this new bunch offered? I look at Nardi, Dunne, Clarke-Salter, Cook, Frey and Chair and then....... Field is playing below par, Paal has totally lost whatever he had, Varanne is a lightweight who jumps in with reckless challenges, Fox is sub-standard, Saito and Dembele both need to contribute more, Colback is always a card waiting to happen, Santos is a headless chicken, Dixon-Bonner is league one, Andersen is way too slow and looks past it, Smyth is a tryer but little else, no idea what Bennie is even supposed to be and dont get me started on Celar and Madsen.... And Cifuentes is bamboozling me with his stubborness and seeming lack of nous at present. I saw the squad photo yesterday.....there looked to be about 15 backroom staff on there (actually 23.....23!)....what the feck are they all doing? We are in deep sh1t. It depresses me watching this team. Will carry on rooting for them obviously but i think i may take a break from watching them live for a few games, need to calm down. Sorry, another rant over.
Thank **** I've been working a lot of weekends and don't have to put myself through the torture of having to watch this dross... what snippets I have seen don't get me salivating at the prospect of watching the full match. I do think it'll all come together at some poimt, just hope it's not too late...chopping and changjng managers is just a crazy spiral which we need to get out of

A point and a bit of confidence, against the only team in the division that hadn't won a game ffs ! If that's the case, then we are as good as down. How low do you think Portsmouth's confidence was before today and especially after going 1 down today ? Any other side in the division would've put their foot on their throats and finished them off, but not us, bless us . We are a team of soft centered prima donna's, there's a massive lack of heart and desire about our squad. We had the whole of the break for the manager to sort out a system and way of getting about a team who (quite frankly are probably the weakest in the division), but no he totally failed on the set up, selection and style of play required to get the rssult. After today , we are now the side that looks by far the worst in the division , I see nothing from the manager, his coaches or the players that gives any modicum of hope , that they can turn this round. Very grim times I'm afraid
Two weeks to prepare for this game and got beat by a poor team that knew how to beat us, I’m not down just numb
The last 4 games I've seen live, both Sheffield games, Blackburn & Derby, we didn't control anywhere on the pitch, same with what I've seen on the TV too. The majority of time watching has been quite boring, to the point that I don't recognise this team or even the manager who did so well towards the end of last season. He tried 5 at the back today, it can be argued that there were wingbacks but there were 5 defenders selected. I believe this was to first and foremost try shore up the defence and not lose. Obviously it didn't work. Marti seemed to panic with his subs, replacing anyone and playing them anywhere. It's plain to see that either he doesn't know his strongest team or doesn't know how to set them up. I think it's a matter of both. Granted JCS didn't play and as good as he is , he wouldn't make a huge difference. I don't even believe it's a confidence issue. It's the structure of our play. It's too slow, too negative and often repetitive. There were some absolutely shocking performances today, Fox being one and I can't say Madsen actually does anything that could be rated on a performance scale. Give the young lad Alfie lloyd a run out up top with Frey. The kid at least wants to go forwards with the ball.
The odd thing for me is we've actually become a long ball team, we just disguise it my pissing about the back for 20 passes before the boot upfield. Not what I was expecting from the Marti hype.
Ridiculous time to change the formation against the worst team in the league. Poor team selection. Result was a poor team performance. The substitutions were awful and sucked every last ounce of hope from the crowd. I don’t think there was anybody who felt after the changes that we could get anything out of the game. It feels like Marti is in a melt down. Listening to interviews after the game are starting to sound like Ainsworth levels of self denial. Very worrying as I had so hoped we had a who knew how to organise a team to play to at least a minimum standard of performance. Hopefully I’m just over reacting in a moment and we will be in a different position in 10 games from now
Chair did have two one on ones with their keeper today and if he was fit and firing we'd have won, overall poor performance or not. Cook blasted one over as well and that would have been 2 nil and good night. We lost to a pen following an individual error and even their first goal is blocked 9 times our of 10. Not saying the performance was acceptable by any means but the fine margins didn't go our way again. Granted its hard not to feel doom and gloom though, maybe QPR is just broken, we've tried manager after manager to little avail. The One thing we maybe haven't tried is patience, but can Marti turn this around? Is Hayden a free agent? That would be a sure way to get the fans back in board.
