Hmmm, think no wins in 8 league games plus failing to beat both Ipswich and Leicester at home would prove fatal IMO.
The crowd will begin to turn if we don’t win today I think, especially if we lose. And while I can very much see a scenario where the board are far more patient than the fans, and may even intend on keeping RM despite relegation, it will become a much more difficult situation when the crowds turned. It’s usually then only a matter of time.
We have been poor, we have been unlucky, we have been careless, we are winless and sometimes we have been quite good. Hoping today, we click COYR
The last PL game we won was against Leicester I think? From memory we should’ve lost by about 5 but they couldn’t score that day, fantastic memories
Not really a surprise, I did think he would pick the exact same team as Arsenal minus Stewart. He isn’t bothered about who the opposition is, just concentrates on us and we played alright against Arsenal
Probably because he's not very fit. Hopefully he can come on for 25-30 mins to help us see out a lead.
Yeah clearly Martin thought the same and wanted to keep the same side apart from Stewart for obvious reasons
Yes but that was a completely different type of game. ****ing ludicrous to start him in a must win game.
He doesn’t care about “type of game” he wants to play the same regardless of opposition, he’s said that multiple times in interviews
Yeah I reckon so. Though I'm not convinced it'll work as well today when he's not got the specific job of helping the full back.
Not sure I buy that as we definitely set up more defensively at Arsenal. Or at least that's how it looked from the stands.
Which is ****ing stupid. We had 40% of the ball against Arsenal so playing Manning didn't really matter. Today we'll probably have 65% and Manning is horrific on the ball.
I can’t see it working either as, unlike Martin, I do think the type of game and looking at what the oppo are likely to do is important. Leicester will be happy with a point so we are going to need to force the issue and having Manning in the side over other options doesn’t do that in my view
I don’t know, I think we played pretty much a back three with KWP tucking in and Manning at LB, so yeah more defensive, but I think Arsenal were just all over us so we were probably a lot deeper than we would’ve liked
