RLB: Assistant - we started the process during the summer but we paused during the transfer window we are happy with his profile Connolly - Aaron has played very well with the U21s and now he is ready, the final test is a competitive game. Mayenda, Ballard should be ready next week Samed - not until mid November 9 games is not enough to assess the team - maybe after 20 We have our strengths, we want to have many fast attacks but we need to have more possession Hull are a good team in possession it will be a challenge for us The ability to score across the team is important - the more options, the better We play very well on the wings we need to improve what we do in the centre Player mood - we wanted to create a level environment and we are in a good place Burnley, Sheff Utd and Leeds are all playing well now with a good dynamic Chris Rigg - He assumes responsibility on the pitch, he always wants the ball, and wants to learn We always want to win our games, we are always looking to improve how we respond during games
Samed still not fit is a concern. RLB saying it'll be the next international break for him which is a month away. Not sure we're going to see much of him before January.
Glad that RLB was not happy with parts of the Leeds performance, especially mentioning the period between their first goal and half time. He called it passive and he's exactly right, probably the worst we've played this season in that 20 minutes. Also happy that he wants more control and more possession. Counter attacking is all good on occasion but if we can't dominate the ball, especially against weaker teams, we'll fall away this season.
Yep. Massive shame A third of the way through our league season by the time the next international break comes around.
The fortunate thing about Samed is we already have four excellent players vying for 3 slots on the team, which means there's no reason to rush him back at this stage. I'd rather see him at his best for 5-6 months than pushing him and he ends up unavailable again.
Still to see Huggins , Seelt, Abdoullahi, and Samed play this season, Not to mention Connolly, Alese, Watson, Mayenda and Ballard moving into contention ,. we could have some squad by the New Year .
I wonder if we see him at all. Odd one. It is a loan, wonder if we can terminate and try another option for that position in the squad. I would be tempted personally.
What pleases me is that, whereas we've had quiet periods in games, I don't think we've had a 'backs to the wall' situation this season. Even with Burnley and Boro I thought we managed the game quite well. I can never understand the idea that defending a lead, in the last ten minutes, is surrendering. The opposition have no option but to throw people forward and nothing to lose. All you can do is fall back and cover it. Our full backs, and wingers, will be key tomorrow, imo, Roberts needs to avoid leaving Hume exposed.
We are arguably one of the best counter attacking teams in the division and Hull are weak defensively. I'll be very surprised if we don't score at least twice. We need to be compact at the back and stop giving away stupid penalties, which have so far cost us 2 points on the road. I'm going for a 4-1 win, particularly if we get an early goal. Mundle, Jobe, Isador and O'Nien all notching. HTL
I think it'll be a tight game, they've been doing alright recently but fell apart against Norwich, hoping that Connolly can be our secret weapon as a late sub and do them with a 1 yard tap-in.
Didn't realise this had happened yesterday. Was pretty much in control of recruitment at Hull so something has definitely gone on there. The owner has a history of making weird decisions.
Hull have 37 first team players listed on wikipedia, that tells me they've likely taken a scattergun approach to signings, they also have 6 goalkeepers, 3 of which could be argued are genuine first team calibre, looking at their appearances at previous clubs, stinks of Stoke tbh and wouldn't be surprised to see them struggle.
We are usually very poor after an international break, so for that reason I'm going 1-1. Going to be a tough few weeks 2 home games in the next 6 followed by another bloody international break. Squad could be rotated a bit. Time for some players to take their chances.
How do we know we are usually poor after IB? we had one poor game at Plymouth and that’s the only break?
I was wondering tbh. It was a poor result at Plymouth ... ... I definitely wouldn't say we were very poor.
