Thinking about ditching SKY and moving to NOW TV

Anybody had any experience of NOW or know any one that has

I've googled reviews but would be interested to hear some views on it from here

Ron now tv is crap or was a few years back
Kodi and ip masker works for all channels you would require and easy to set up not that i bother with it anymore. There is also linux based card sharimg that about 50 a year .
I do pay for sly though for picture quality amd no hassels

I’ve had Kodi for quite a while together with excellent apps for movies and decent apps for sport. However I do pay a very small cost for Real Debrid as, without it , there are now few movies “for free.” Nonetheless the quality and availability of movies beats the rest, although you do need to sort out which apps are the best.
Re. Sky, I’ve been with them since the early nineties, mainly for golf and football, but I’m cancelling it soon- it’s easy to get all football on Kodi and most golf. Their movies are pretty pathetic anyway- their daily “new B movies are a joke.
If you’re interested, there’s an app stream called “Frequency Starters” which you can get loaded on a Firestick for £60.00 per annum. Everything is on there, including full Sky channels.

Thanks chaps. Never heard of Crew. Will look into it
    .
    All I want is
    Sky Sports
Sky Sports Plus (which doesn't come with SKY GO on laptop) - shows EFL matches now
ITV channels for the main horse races
    BBC channels

    My wife must also have
    Sky Max
    Sky Witness
    Sky U &W

Some of these are free I know and all bar Sky Sports Plus are freely available on SKY GO as long as you have a SKY subscription.

    We aren't interested in films

As we currently waste £92.50 a month on SKY and can't get SKY SPORTS PLUS <steam>. I want to get rid of ASAP

I don't think CREW provides SKY SPORTS PLUS which is my must have

We already have Netflix on Amanda's subscription but not sure if we ever watch it

I watch ITVX on my laptop and sometimes BBCi

I think the only ways I can get Sky Sports Plus is via SKY TV or NOW TV. So it looks like it's either NOW TV or a new deal with Sky (take off films and kids) but can't get SkySports Plus on Windows (it's available on mobiles and tablets - no good to me)

I have Nord VPN and Netflix

So, despite all the negative comments (I was hoping for some positive ones lol) it looks like cancel SKY and try NOW for 6 months

It would cost £26 pm for all the sport I need and £6.99 pm for the Entertainment (Total £32.99). I can then cancel or pay £44.98 pm thereafter and cancel anytime

So I would look at that as £45 pm from outset and use the £72 saving for something else

For extra multiroom access and quality I would pay the 9.99 pm for Ulta boost; making it £55 pm. That' saves us nearly £40 pm and gives us just what we want

If I go ahead I'll give some feedback on what NOW is like now

Thanks for your comments. I may have to come back to them after 6 months <laugh>

I use Now TV on occasions Ron, and find it very good. Sky Sports Plus works well on the TV or on a device and get to watch Town regularly on it.

    Ron, you’re getting ripped off.
Ring up Sky Options and plead poverty- or threaten cancellation.
They’ll soon bring your price down.
I’ve the full Sky package and pay £69.00 (from £62.00 at start of contract. If you don’t want movies, then you should aim for a maximum of £50.00 per month.
Maybe you just have too much money? <laugh>

Yes I'm sure we can get the SKY price down but we like being able to watch on our laptops and if we want to share a viewing we just play it on TV via the WIFI. Can't get SKY Sports plus on SKY GO

Also the multiroom cost on SKY is too high and we cancelled that yonks ago

Plus our SKY box is pretty ancient and we get problems viewing sometimes (often). Difficult decision. I think SKY Q is out of the question. One downside of NOW is that if there is no internet. I think though that the only time there is no internet is if there is a powercut which buggers up all options

Looking more and more like cancelling SKY and trying NOW for 6 months then review again

Ron, I can get Sky Sports + on Sky Go on my tablet.
Also, I’ve never wanted SkyQ but it’s regularly offered at the same price as my Sky+ HD box- with multi room at 10.00 extra.

Yes it's available on mobiles and tablets but not on laptops. Ridiculous argument for this being a tablet is more like a mobile and used away from home.

    What????????

If I could get Sky Sports Plus on my laptop, I would just be thinking of chopping out films and kids programs and demanding a decent price. As things stand that isn't on offer and (apparently) won't be. Don't understand the logic at all. If I want Sky Sports Plus on my laptop I am forced to Now which, of course, is owned by Sky
