Cometh the hour, cometh the ... loading... man. La Belle Saint Sans Merci O what can ail thee, saint-at-arms, Low down and leaguely suffering? The turf has withered from the pitch, And no fans sing. O what can ail thee, saint-at-arms, So haggard and so woe-begone? The opposition's goal is full, And the match is done. I see a backpass coming now, Causing anguish moist and fever-dew, And on the bench a low league bunch Six attackers too. I met a manager in the stands, Full beautiful—a faery’s child, His beard was long, his football light, And his eyes were wild. I made a game plan for Martin's boys, And defending drills, and marking zones; He looked at me as he did love, But understood as like a stone. I set the tempo, as a pacing steed, And ran about thus all day long, But sideways would he pass, and sing A possession song. He was drunk on roots of relish sweet, And Pinder's tits, and manna-dew, And sure in language strange he said— ‘I love passing true’. He took me to St Mary's parking lot, And there he wept and sighed full sore, And there our strikers cursed his wild wild eyes With misses of the whole barn door. And his football lullèd me asleep, And there I dreamed—Ah! woe betide!— A relegation dream I dreamt On the cold hill side. I saw LeTiss and Franny too, Pale warriors, death-pale were they all; They cried—‘La Belle Saint sans Merci Thee hath in thrall!’ I saw their starved lips in the gloam, With horrid warning gapèd wide, And I awoke and found me here, On cold Northam side. And this is why I sojourn here, Alone and palely loitering, The turf has withered from the pitch, And no fans sing. 1-3 Leicester.
Just can’t see a win. We’ll do okish but **** up, concede & be chasing the game. Might snatch a draw, which will give RM MCitee. Team selection will be key ….. just read that bit back & how ****ing obvious but we’ve seen in the past RM is a bit partial to a weird one, so maybe not so stupid to state!? Definitely winnable but just can’t see it playing our usual tactics.
First game I can make it to this season, so the Elsewhere clan will be descending on St Mary's with a heady mix of excitement, dread and nausea hanging in the air. I'm expecting a humping. And not in a good way.
Rebekah Vardy has more chance of winning against Coleen Rooney in court than we have winning against her husband. 0-2, with that scumbag getting one of them...
It's **** or bust time for Martin now. We/he cannot afford another winnable home game to pass us by without actually winning it. I would love to see him go two up top with Tall Paul partnering Archer but sadly I can't see it. My team would be: Ramsdale KWP THB Bednarek Taylor Dibling Downes Fernandes Cornet Tall Paul Archer What I think the team will be: Ramsdale Sugawara TBH Bednarek Taylor Downes Lallana Dibling Fernandes Fraser Archer
Interestingly in the game yesterday when he was playing as a defender, Martin had no issue with pumping a ball long when the situation required. Can't see anything but another defeat unfortunately. Our players and manager just aren't of the quality we need in this league
I disagree about the players. Some aren't (like Armstrong and BBD for example). But Fernandes has been class, Dibling has taken to PL football like a duck to water, Archer is getting there, Ramsdale is clearly good enough, I still believe in Sugawara depsite his mistakes at Arsenal, Lallana still has it at this level. It doesn't help that Martin is refusing to play two of our better defensive players - KWP and ABK. Our squad is obviously one of the weaker ones in the PL, particularly for depth, but I don't think it's anywhere near as bad as some are making out.
Can but hope the players don't have themselves beaten before they take to the pitch. To much doom on here COYR!
Your team would get humped by about 5 I reckon, far too attacking for the quality we have defensively. Is Stephens back for this or his last game of suspension?
I think it will be the Arsenal team with Lallana in for Manning and Archer for Stewart if he isn’t fit
