Thought Jacobs looked decent at LB overall. Likes to look forward. Some decent passes and link ups. With this depth hopefully no more square pegs round holes
A very good workout but could still do a lot better Positives Good minutes together in a competitive game & kept going till the end of the game (good competition for places) We dominated possession most of the game in their half They didn’t really look like scoring Scored a good well worked opening goal & similar 2nd A few players showed up very well (Puerta, Alzate, Kamara, Coyle, Hughes, Dramah, Jacob’s, Belloumi, Simons) Everyone had a decent game only one or two looked a bit rusty (Jarvis, Pedro, Burstow) Negatives Opposition didn’t look too good & had the air of a friendly about it Our final ball still not perfect to find players, but we had a lot more opportunities in the box However, there were some good chances that we should have put away Corners are still a conundrum! But a friendly deserved win in Turkey for Tim this time
Interesting what you can do in a friendly with a squad and an appropriate level of opposition. Walter probably learned more from that than in any of the preseason friendlies. Kamara, Alzate, Puerta, Hughes and Jacob all came out of it looking good. Pedro seems like a character and seems to having something about him. He's wasted a lot of chances but has at least been there. If we can get an early goal he could certainly have an impact.
Puerta was excellent for me and a big step up on Mehlem... Seemingly he had been having trouble adjusting.... look out when he's adjusted then.,.. I think my YT must have been 5 behind.
Agree, yet Bedia managed to avoid the ball for the best part of 45 minutes. No passes, no tackles, no headers. He actualy touched the ball twice. Jarvis was piss poor in the first half too. It was a run out, and nothing else. Thought the opposition were poor, but good at rolling about screaming. Hughes had a decent 45 mins, as did Jacob if you forget about his short back pass.
