Or maybe Walter just wanted a keeper who can play a certain way in possession and he was the ideal candidate. No need to get too dramatic.

If Rushworth can bring something different and better to our game as well as stopping shots maybe Pandur does need to see it. Tough call to drop him though, call it squad rotation?

Nothing dramatic about it, it's just called having a different opinion to you. Pandur has proved he's more then good enough to be a #1 in this league and he's our player.

Not sure why you're so keen to see a keeper who's in absolutely fantastic form dropped when last year you didn't want a keeper who was in piss poor form dropped....

I'm not keen to see it particularly. I just can see why it might happen in time and I do think it's dramatic to ignore those possible reasons and rush to say things like "totally wasted knee jerk signing".

I kinda hope Pandur does get dropped, leaving him on the bench already got one manager sacked so maybe our lucky charm can strike again.

It’s a bit odd how opposed you were to Allsop being dropped when he was one of the worst keepers in the league last season on the grounds that it would disrupt the team when we still had an outside chance of play-offs but now you want a keeper in exceptional form dropped to make way for a keeper on loan because ‘he’s better playing out from the back’.

No, I was never bothered about 'disrupting the team'. Maybe someone else was. I just supported Rosenior's choice of goalkeeper and I'll support Walter's too. These are the experts.

That's what I thought when his loan was announced surely the money could have been used to try to sign a better Quality striker. Meant to be a reply to Howdentiger2

I’ve not managed to make it down for a while, after Christmas I should be able to start making batches again, so it’s interesting to see people’s opinions. Pandur does look like he’s been on top form, I’m just not sure why you would sign Rushworth to sit on the bench. I also think after a 4-0 loss, changes might be made. It’s not necessarily down to form either, it could be communication, comparability and confidence (of the defenders in their keeper), that may see a change, as these are all things we as fans wouldn’t necessarily know.

The 4-0 loss was zero to do with the keeper... intact but for him it could have been 6... it was the non existent midfield...

Did Tim know Pandur was going to be this solid when they signed Rushworth ? Think the latter is so good with his feet he could play outfield ! But Pandur stays in until he loses form for me .

i never said it was, but easier for a manager to use that as an excuse if he fancies Rushworth instead. I’m in no way saying it is or that’s going to happen, I’m just wondering why Rushworth was brought in.

Also, I’m pretty sure Brighton are not happy with him sitting on the bench. They sent him here to get 1st team action. There’s more to football than form.

So apparently Rushworth was due to start today but is now out for a couple of months or so.

Given that Tim was going to drop Pandur despite his recent shot-stopping form - presumably because of how much better Rushworth is with his feet - might Racioppi potentially now have a chance of getting in in the meantime whilst Rushworth is injured? We've obviously seen very little of him so it's hard to say how good he is with his feet, but the fact that Walter signed him makes me think he's likely to be more suited to what Tim wants from a keeper than Pandur who he inherited. I do think it's notable that Pandur very rarely picks out a long pass, which I think Tim like most modern footballing managers wants his keeper to be able to do as well as playing the short stuff.

I still think that if all three keepers were here from day one of pre-season then Pandur would've been third choice and would probably still be yet to make his debut.

I was convinced that Rushworth would be in before too long for this very reason, I guess it now depends on whether Racioppi is better than Pandur with his feet. If we want to play this beat the press style, we need a goalie who can pass further than the nearest player.

You can’t drop Pandur he’s been one of our best players with Coyle.
Rushworth was a farce of a signing and a waste of time. Even more of a waste of time now he’s out till after Xmas.

Should have used the loan spot on a striker.

We can say rushworth was a waste, but he 100% would have been the starting keeper
But picked up an injury which you cant account for

You're not the first person to say that, and it's absolute nonsense. Form players get dropped all the time by top managers, if they think there's a better player on the bench, or a player better suited to the approach they are trying to perfect. Pandur has made some good saves, although I'm not sure he's been quite as brilliant as his fans make out, but he contributes to the slow and unambitious buildup at the back. Hughes will make a difference to that, but without a different goalkeeper we won't get to the brave style that Walter keeps saying he wants.
