The appointment sounds good to me. Worked at some top clubs as an assistant and has an interesting background in scouting and analysis. Looking at the Ligue 1 table I'm very pleased we didn't appoint Will Still. They are doing remarkably well with 11 points from 7 games and they are unbeaten but it looks like they are boring their opponents to death. Averaging one goal a game and have drawn five of their matches. Not for me.
sometimes in life things happen for a reason, at the time it seems bad or uncertain and then in time ya find out it was for the good anyway.
As a side note, perhaps his knowledge of the Portuguese leagues can be utilised in recruitment or at least in directing a bit of scouting towards certain players/clubs.
