No surprise there. So, it's anti-competitive to allow nation states and criminals to destroy the competitiveness of professional football (such as it was) by flooding it with cash. Excellent! Next stop, The oil states buy the World Cup?
David de Gea embraced the spirit of Gazzaniga and saved two penalties for Fiorentina in their win against Milan yesterday: Maignan also saved one for the Rossoneri. Quite a number of ex-Premier League players on display. De Gea and Kean on one side, Abraham, Morata, Pulisic, Tomori and Emerson Royal for the other.
So interest-free loans from club owners have been made unlawful and won't circumnavigate PSR Somebody's only gone and shot themselves in the foot with their whinging, haven't they? please log in to view this image
Forest have been fined £750,000 for bringing the game into disrepute after their comments about Stuart Attwell: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c33v274e7vdo That's an absolutely enormous fine when compared with those dished out for other offences. What they were claiming is also factually correct. Attwell's a Luton fan and it's been known for over a decade.
City have confirmed that their unpronounceable DoF is leaving at the end of the season and being replaced by Hugo Viana. I hope the Portugeezer is about as good as he was for Newcastle as a player
There are not one, but two football rape stories doing the rounds today. Great. The first is an accusation against Mbappe in Sweden, which he's quickly denied. The second is against an unnamed player and happened in London. As with the Partey accusation, the press have run with a vague-but-not-that-vague description of the person that's been accused. 24-years-old, former Premier League player, born overseas, capped at senior and youth levels for his country, played for several Prem teams. I've only seen one player fit the bill, but we'll see what happens, I guess.
The only player I can think of who maybe fits this description is Nathan Tella, but not sure if that's who you were thinking of? EDIT: He's recently turned 25, but he was born overseas, capped at senior level (not sure about youth level) for Nigeria, and has played for a few Prem teams. Now playing at Bayer Leverkusen abroad.
Interesting couple of results in Scotland. Aberdeen come back from 2-0 down at Celtic Park to draw 2-2, which Brendan won't be happy about. Both level on points. Dundee United come back from 2-1 down in the 92nd minute to win 3-2 against Hibs, who go bottom below Hearts on GD. The two Edinburgh clubs should do far better than they do. Shambolically run.
Comment from the BBC live thingy: "It looked to me as though Evanilson was in an offside position when the ball was played. We know angles can be deceiving, but the fact that VAR haven't even considered that could well lead to another enormous controversy involving Arsenal." Nathan, Oxford Trossard plays it back, you dumb ****! Arsenal will probably still beat this lot with another expert display of Pulisball, though.
Not one Arsenal player complained that it got upgraded to a red. Saliba himself didn't protest it, either. Trossard did Saliba no favours at all with that hospital pass. Complete idiocy.
