This second half has been a hard watch for me, quite tedious. Uninspiring subs, why take Eom off? I would have kept Vip on as well. Subs for subs sake. They came for a point and we had no answer.
Yes they came for the draw, parked the bus somewhat, but we had a hatfull of chances we simply blew, we are seriously naff in front of goal, this needs addressing ASAP.
Tad too early for me to say, though he has improved our back line somewhat, but we are desperate for a talented striker for sure.
I'm still interested if Williams can improve and he'll certainly be here until the end of the season, so I'll find out! Even the most talented striker can do f all without the ball. I still think Vip could be decent but he seems like a traditional number 9 to me, so needs balls in the box. Our style of play is not geared to attacking football though, it's safety first and cautious.
Just getting back home. Well, that was a game we should have won: so 2 points out of a possible 9….. could so easily have been 7 For me Ronald is more MacDonald than Ronaldo at the moment. He had 2 decent chances and failed on each occasion. Additionally, when was the last time he beat his man to create a goal scoring opportunity? As for bringing on Abdulai - feck me, just what does Williams see in him? Vipotnik huffs and puffs and does try. He had a decent header well saved by their goalie, but he just doesn’t receive the type of service that he would thrive on - unfortunately, we seem unable to adapt our play for him. Yet again, we go to pieces after Franco goes off - like the Bristol City, Cardiff and Norwich games, we end up second best on the pitch after his withdrawal. Anyway, time for a drink
Eom is the only one that can cross a ball tho he was a bit off at times today. But I wouldn't have subbed him as he's got the most energy ! If he could cross to himself and was a bit taller I'd stick him at centre forward / striker . Better than the average ........... we've got !
At the Dot Com today - those of us who watched the Swans during Tosh’s time will remember him fondly,
In you could see how disappointed he was to be taken off - he seemed our biggest threat. Poor sub - especially as it an international break now.
