Well that was much better than expected. Can't fault our performance really and if one of our two efforts which hit the woodwork at 2-1 gone in I reckon we might have nicked a point. Ref was appalling, corrupt as ****. And Arsenal must be one of the whiniest ****s in English football, beyond pathetic. Definitely have amongst the worst home support in the country too. Dreadful considering how good they've been recently. Good day out. Grabbing a chippy at London prices and then heading home.
Funny how quiet that same bench were last week when Calafiori, already on a yellow, deliberately tripped Buenanotte as we were looking for an unlikely 3-2 lead - the ref instead booked Buenanotte for waving an imaginary yellow (no problem with that btw)... The ref was demoted - this is the first week since the start of the season that he hasn't officiated at a Prem game in some capacity ... not that it does us much good...
That should be a penalty on first viewing tbh I'm biased and cannot argue that we deserve to be winning but it looks like a gift from Tarkowski there.
Yeah we really miss Wilson or Isak. We don't really look like scoring without either of them on the pitch. Even our goals from midfield generally rely on one of those two creating the space for the chances.
That was a nailed on penalty and the **** Gordon deserved to miss it for posing and milking the situation. If you're going to do that you have to score or you look a right ****er...
I missed 5-10 mins of the half with a family distraction. I saw them score but didn't see it was ruled out as I had to sort something out - whilst thinking we were losing - so although I've seen us miss a penalty I've also seen us come back from 1-0 down to 0-0. Swings and roundabouts. Their goal was offside and I can honestly say I wouldn't complain if that penalty was given against us, the ref will get booed but I'm pretty sure both the big calls will be seen to be correct when reviewed after the game.
Entertaining game, not the highest quality but end to end. Trippier looks poor though, looks like a competition winner and not in a good way.
Only caught glimses of this half so far and now likely to miss the rest of it but already feeling like the kind of game we're never going to score. 2-0 to Everton I suspect with their only 2 shots on target this half. Agree about Trippier, he looked a bit past it last season and Livramento is surely better than him now. All of Evertons chances are targetted at him (and rightly so).
This. Playing away from home I can accept a draw in a game where we looked the better side (and most likely to actually do anything), 2 cleared off the line and a missed penalty feels like an opportunity missed but then again they had an offside goal and a good penalty shout that wasn't given (I haven't seen theirs as i missed most of the 2nd half) so can't complain with a point. We somehow lost there 3-0 last season so it's better than that!
Bruno trying to cheer up Gordon in the hotel tonight…. That new signing Tonali looks okay, be a player when he settles in.
