Carrick will be sat at home sipping a whisky and thinking how proud he is about his team having 62% possession today

I don’t even know the rules anymore, absolutely crazy. You can use your leg to initiate contact but can’t attempt a shot and make contact

I really don't like their manager, I hope he fails miserably.

Birmingham boss Chris Davies after their 1-0 defeat at Charlton:
“Charlton spent a fortune. They spent a lot of money on their side and are a good team"

What a sad little hypocrite <laugh>

60% possession but no attempts on target ...

... the absolute definition of the new batch of coaches who think they've cracked the code.

Pretty quick judgement on him mind. You may be right, but it is very early in his coaching days to be making these judgements in my opinion. In the same way writing players off after half a season, same goes for coaches, it should.

Their first reality check that you can’t just walk league one because you are Birmingham/Sheffield Wednesday/Sunderland it’s a ****ing horrible slog of a league, heavy pitch’s and multiple game weeks to come, still think they’ll win it like but won’t have it all their own way

I've watched him during their games and formulated my opinion from that tbh ...

... he clearly believes he's in total control and knows exactly what's needed, just another Garry Monk imo

Besides, what does it matter what I think, not my club.

TBF you'll defend any English coach as quickly as I'll dismiss them.

This fella will never manage in the PL.

A Pickford clean sheet and penalty save against the Mags has nicely topped off a great day! :)

I will defend any coach tbh, whether English or not. Far too many fans dismiss them as not good enough, or that they know better. Always makes me chuckle tbh. I am no better, I criticse too. Coaches need time to do a job, calling one out after his first loss and a handful games seems quick is all. I could never draw a conclusion as to whether someone will manage in the prem or not after a handful of games.

    You're overthinking it mate.

I'm basing my current opinion on what I currently know. I've no idea about his coaching, management, history or stature in the game. I'm not dismissing him as a coach, just saying he comes across as a pretty repulsive little man who I think will be found out.

My opinion won't change anything but that opinion is that he'll never manage in the PL. That's as much to do with his demeanor as anything else. I said the same about Garry Monk, when he'd had his moment in the sun. He may well be a decent coach but falls out with everyone, through arrogance, and has tumbled down the leagues ending up at Cambridge.

He took on an easy gig at Swansea, inheriting Laudrup's set up, and won a lot of respect ...

... but I always thought he was a fake, just like this fella.

Fair enough mate. I know some who have worked with him. Probably over thinking like you say. If he doesnt win the league with squad it will be a failure. They are much better balanced as a squad than our first season down there.

I want to give a little shout out to Nigel Clough at Mansfield. Was going to go today, after getting an invite from the club, but something selfish came up.

They are doing great things there. A real team effort. Clough is a clever coach at this sort of level. Apparently they were good today, against a certain Mr Bruce.

I will go to Mansfield this year when I can. I have some real friends there on the coaching side and I will enjoy watching them do well, hopefully.

That was my home team until I was sixteen and started hitching it to Roker, always look out for them and go when I can.

If we don't go up we could be playing them next season.

Been through some tough times recently. They lost academy at one point. I helped them a tiny bit with the come back. They are just good folk trying to make a club the heartbeat of the community again. Good luck to them.
