On a more worrying note there was a fan in a really bad way near me, clearly from drink/drugs, and the stewards were appalling. Two came and looked at him and just cos his mate said he was fine left him alone - he was barely conscious, pale as ****, ajd dribbling FFS Really really poor from the stewards to let it go as long as it did (it took another 10-15 after two first looked at him to actually get him some medical attention) and it took my attention from the game for the last 20-30 minutes or so. Hope he's okay
I do wonder if it was something in lallanas contract. He had a year left on brughton where he was starting most games and doing well. Said he left in a bbc interview as he was worn out by playing so much and more then he wanted.
No no. Better to wait till we have AA playing in the middle. Credit to manning defensively but not once did he try and put a cross in and kept passing it back until the 80th min
Overall a good fighting performance lost by two defensive errors and a goal that if it had been the other way round would have been offside for the attacker who tried to head it Some good performances from nearly everyone who really put a shift in. Lovely goal from Archer and Dibling really looks good
At Waterloo getting a bite to eat before my train home. No complaints at how we set up or how we played. Rock solid first half, I think tiredness got to us in the end. I do think we can survive with this team. Great finish by Archer and will do him wonders getting off the mark. Plenty to build on over the next couple of weeks. Tall Paul was great!
If only Pound Shop Pep would listen to some random on the internet, eh? I mean it’s not like he’s earned the right to put himself to the test in the PL…
Thing is arsenal away is never gonna be the problem for saints. Its all the other games. I am really torn with RM. Part of me admires him a lot and he got us up and i feel like I should be loyal to him but this is a results business and we'll probably mess up against Leicester and play rubbish. Saints are an enigma
I honestly agree . I think Someone posted the other day , that they felt the powers that be have decided to stick with RM no matter what . I fear that may be true .
Happy to hear about tall Paul especially. But you’re later post is spot on, Leicester is the match following which decisions will be made I’m pretty certain.
Yeah if we don't beat Leicester then we are looking at a quarter of the season gone already with no win and Man City away up next. At that point, the board have 2 options. Either they accept Martin will take us down but as he is the best man to take us straight back up they keep him anyway. Or if they aren't willing to accept relegation then I think they take the risk and sack him.
Not sure if this is a serious comment or not, but come on mate, it quite literally isn't . We do struggle in this fixture a lot. Prior to this game, these were our last 7 results against you : Arsenal 3-3 Southampton Southampton 1-1 Arsenal Southampton 1-0 Arsenal Arsenal 3-0 Southampton Southampton 1-3 Arsenal Southampton 1-0 Arsenal (FA Cup) Arsenal 1-1 Southampton This is not a clean record by any means. Obviously I know today we've won, but considering most of you guys were telling me how you had no hope and that it was going to be a hammering, you more than held your own. You also had chances after you scored too. So even when we win, you still torment us . I hate playing you guys honestly.
They said it on commentary, we haven’t won at Emirates in 20 years or something which makes it the most one sided PL fixture ever
OOOhhh Mister Archer's Road, please don't be upset or angry...it's a forum where everybody is entitled to an opinion, whether you like it or not, agree or disagree so please don't get personnel - if you so strongly object to my "Pound-shop Pep" nickname then perhaps you should put me on ignore?
So I haven't read the whole thread, but surely their 2nd goal was offside with the player in the middle trying to head it?
