If we do get O'Neil tomorrow I will be horrified. I don't want to see defensive cloggers in the mould of the Leicester midfield a la 1997. He's been out of the game 14 months (it would take time for him to get to know our squad, let alone any potential signings for January) Lets not forget that he managed in the fun league up the border for 6 years - nothing like the current battle we face in the premiership. He has never spent any money at the clubs he has been at but one would think that he would get the opportunity to spend if he joined us. The guy doesn't half get on my wick in interviews - they are protracted and he is massively sensitive to criticism - that's a no no at our club as only Steve Bruce will tell you! We will get 4-4-2 every single game as a 100% certainty with O'Neil. How many folks in this board cried out for a different formation this season?

There seems to me like there is a lot of overexcited folk around as there were when Keane was appointed. We all know what a muck up his appointment was. Whoever the new manager may be it will take time for them to put their influence on the team.

just pick you up on one point

That is the formation a lot if not everyone was crying out for instead of 4-5-1 4-6-0

So if he does bring 4-4-2 and we play well, but still get beat, i think a lot will give him slack, as at least he has 2 strikers playing.

I would just like to say as well, the Board cant please everyone, some will be over the moon with MON, some will hate it, but it would have been the same for every manager.

Yeah we should have kept Bruce as he has been in work for 14 months!!!! sorry mate what a load of tripe:emoticon-0113-sleep opinions yes but come on. Maybe we should employ Steve Staunton he is at the club?? :grin:would you be happy then?

MON record speaks for itself nothing you can say or do about that. He has had success at just about EVERY club he has been at. He is full of passion and I am sure he will get the best out of the current sqaud and others he brings in.

Luckily for him there is a few hundred of like minded people wanting him here for every 1 of you.

But hey nothing personal I just dont agree with anything you have stated as I am sure you wont agree with anything I have!!! football eh :emoticon-0105-wink:

We should have kept Bruce because 13 league games is not enough time to develop the team. Was it Bruce's fault that Welbeck, Gyan, Onuoha and Bent left? and Henderson was given silly money. Also was it Bruce's fault that Campbell, Gordon and Mignolet were injured? Was it Bruce's fault that in the closing stages of the last game...Westwood gave Brown a hospital pass, Brown was tackled, and the whole game v Wigan went down the bog in an instant. The answer to all of that is no!

I just hope that Short has even deeper pockets when the new manager wants to buy in another new squad. If Black doesn't get us three points on Sunday then he should go too - thats how our club works now. Why the hell Ball wasn't brought in as caretaker I will never know.

MagicCosha - Staunton was awful as manager of Darlo, so funnily enough I don't want him as our boss.

At least Ball would get us competing. What the hell does Black want to be still with us for? One of his best buddies has just been unjustly sacked and he is asked to fire fight for one game, maybe two. We will be in limbo for a game where we need a vital three points. It's especially frustrating as we should never loose to a Mick McCarthy side.

We may not lose yet, and if MON or whoever the new manager is, is sitting in the stands at the Wolves game, dont you think that will give the players the incentive to go out fighting for their places. if MON comes in tomorrow he may even take charge on Sunday, so everything you are saying is mute.

I didnt want Bruce sacked, I didnt want MON, but its happening, get used to it, and get a bit of excitement going, we have had doom and gloom for months, dont need anymore right now imho.

It's always good to hear opinions on what is best or how it can be done better.
From my experience in business you don't get anywhere if you refuse to embrace change as others imitate you & then innovate to leave you wondering what happened to the organisation you once had.

I'll put it out there that this is why the decision was made to dispense with Mr Bruce's services & appoint a new manager. Had he changed he would still be employed by SAFC.

The new manager if Mr O’Neil, would surely have learned from past mistakes would he not?

I'm sure your opinion will change during his time as manager.

I've no idea if he'll do a job for you my mackem friend, but he surely won't be as bad as the sadly departed and much missed agent Bruce. And oh, in case you didn't know, O'Neill managed and spent good money at a certain club called Aston Villa. Just so you know.

Some mackems on here are already referring to MON as The Messiah.

Talk about hanging a rock around someone's neck before he's even started.

    To the OP.....

Honestly, he is one of the best managers around.

He won't need bucket loads of cash, he will motivate and inspire the current players who in my view (if they were managed correctly) should be more than capable of finishing in the top 10.
