It's kind of incredible given how slow and frustrating our recruitment was over the summer that the strength of our bench is really something to marvel at, last night we had Rushworth, Giles, Burns, Zambrano, Alzate, Mehlem, Omur, Kamara, Burstow - you're a CB and RB away from a team that wouldn't necessarily look out of place in the championship plus like you say a few still to come back into the squad with Pedro and Hughes to add to that list in particular.
Zambrano’s story is that he was eating shellfish at a restaurant with his girlfriend and took an allergic reaction. He took some of her allergy medicine which contained the banned substance. I imagine that this allergy medicine he said he took does contain the banned substance otherwise it wouldn’t be part of his defence. He also apparently came forward to admit to the error as opposed to it being picked up in a random test. If all of this is correct, I cannot see there being a ban or if there is, it shouldn’t be a long one.

Yup. Nothing guaranteed of course but City have time on their side to continue improving,adapting and fine tuning things that has to be a plus factor.
Certainly puts the mockery of the brains team to the sword doesn’t it ? I’m not sure we could have found a better range and quality of players across the team , they are all technically good with the ball . Pedro and Puerta to come plus back up keeper and central defenders - probably a squad that will always perm into a competitive team if injuries come .
I'm sure I heard a while ago that he'd been cleared or let off by COMNEBOL and the outstanding question was whether FIFA, who were investigating it separately, would ban him.
