Wanted to like it but I'm rereading the Iliad at the moment which was just dire timing for comparisons. I hated it overall but it did hit a few highs. Jeff Goldblum doing a Jeff Goldblum impression is about as far from Zeus as I can possibly imagine. Thought Prometheus and Charon were pretty great mind.
Not going to lie, and I'm probably in a camp of 1 here, but I never finished breaking bad. I thought it was sh*t in all honesty. Series after Series waiting for the pay off.
Unfortunately just watched Nightsleeper, a six part epic train type disaster, could have been done in 3 or imo not at all, the only disaster was sitting for 6 hours watching it
You've got to see In Bruges. Absolutely brilliant, one of my favourites. And on a related note, The Guard, although Farrel's not in it but Gleeson is. Never really got on with Seven Psychopaths though.
I gave it a go when all the hype was around it but I couldn't finish it. Each to their own, but not for me
What 6 hours to travel from Glasgow to London in a runaway train doing over 100mph most of the time? Doesn't add up to me.
1st time I watched it, I switched off after 3 or 4 episodes. Couldn't get into. Tried again a few months later - you have to power through the first season and it's a lot of scene setting etc. Watched it 3 or 4 times now - it's the best series I've ever watched. Better Call Saul (the prequel) is a very, very close 2nd. To each their own of course...
Glad I’m not the only one who thought that. Think I got u to halfway through season three before I gave up on it. I also think I’m in the minority of one when I say I’ve never watched an episode of Only Fools and Horses.
It’s great how everyone thinks differently, my lad cannot get into it so stopped watching after one episode. Me and our lass watched it in one run and thought it was brilliant.
'rings of power' and 'house of dragon'...is anyone else making an attempt to watch them? i am finding them both very slow moving but of course there is quite a bit of history that needed(?) to be squeezed in there i guess...just hoping they are not hoping to squeeze more seasons out than are needed.
aye i read 4 seasons was/is the aim so expecting three and 6 or 7 episodes of four to be slow with a 'kick-ass' finale to wind it up.
Like some people have said about Breaking Bad, I've tried to start Game of Thrones about three times and given up after a handful of episodes. So House of Dragon is definitely a non-starter for me. I never fancied the Game of Thrones books much. It all seems a bit too contrived and derivative for me. Someone needs to make a TV a series based on the Icelandic Sagas. That would be just as good. Last Kingdom actually- that's better in my eyes.
