I’ve texted you the questions to ask him, and their order if you get the time. 1. Feeding titbits to overseas fans. 2. His track record as CEO. 3. Telling whoppers (examples provided)
That will be my leading question, after he has side stepped/told a whopper, I will then say you should have attended a Bromley meeting at the start of your term, not 18 months into it.
Methven's reply to fans at a Sunderland Q&A when he got found out (millionaire Investors turned out to be loan sharks - quel surprise) by them was "Northeners don't understand business" which went down a real treat! He can't use that now, so what line will he use to deflect? https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...d-northern-fans-dont-understand-business.html
He's already blamed NJ (Probably correctly) for Alfie leaving so will blame him all the more now that the fans are losing faith in him..
Tomorrow at Bromley will be a waste of time as he will fake smile and bull***** the answers. It's obvious.
With my background in economics (PPE) I am ensuring that my delegate @ElfsborgAddick is properly briefed for his grilling of Methven
I'll probably wait outside the Petts Wood venue for them to come in and I can give him "something off the record".
You start off tomorrow night, as discussed, with his links to Dubai, lawnmowers and North Wales. I want to know why the club’s website is not used to disseminate information to all fans.
What is very clear from the write ups of last night’s meeting is that Slippery Charles Methven lost his PR veneer on several occasions when confronted with the questions of real fans. For the past year his only contact with the fanbase has been feeding stuff to compliant forum stooges, who want feeding in return (with prawn sarnies). A disgraceful way for a CEO to behave, and it was plain why last night - as soon as he gets put under pressure on what he is doing in the role, he flannels & can’t handle it.
Slippery Charles dodged questions about budgets, and became heated when fans pinned him down on his claim that we had spent money on players this Summer. As one said (I’ve been in DM with him on Twitter this morning), Methven’s words v the actual figures didn’t stack up. You can keep repeating “top 4 budget” all you like, most fans aren’t thick. We stopped signing players after freebie Docherty on 7 July, and that was with the Alfie May fee thrown into the pot. After that we signed the free kid from Jamaica and two Luton has been free agents on short term deals to January.
According to a poster on another forum who has listened to Methven’s latest podcast, our CEO has set Nathan Jones a KPI around playing / starting xx number of Academy players in our games. This is ridiculous if true. Selection should always been made on form and merit, not on a strategy based on fattening the calf before taking it to market. This BS from Methven does have a ring of truth to it though - TC, Anderson & Kanu have all been overplayed this season.
