I just hope their concern will be to preserve energy for the rest of the campaign and go into game management mode after going 3 up. Shame it's the international break straight after rather than an important game. Hope they don't feel like putting a marker down tbh because they could easily do a 9-0 on us (or worse)...Not that I'm negative about Saints at the moment or anything
“Following the sending off of Jack Stephens he left the field of play, he looked right at me and said: "You ****ing little ****". He then went back onto the field of play, when he left to go down the tunnel this time, again he looked right at me and said "you're a ****". brilliant
****ing ridiculous comment. Referee does his job correctly. Stephens then behaves like a petulant child and then abuses two people just doing their jobs (correctly as well). Not sure what's "brilliant" about the abuse which needs to be stamped out of the game or our captain behaving like that. Shocking example to set.
You have your opinion and I have mine. I found it hilarious tbh. Yeah it'd have been much better if he'd had done it when they'd actually got something wrong but I can sympathise with someone losing their head and acting like a ****. These things happen. Plus it means he's banned another two games which is a bonus so it's win win as far as I'm concerned.
For clarity I'm not saying it's a good thing to do. In fact I think it deserves an even longer ban tbh I just find that players are so dull and media trained robots these days that I enjoy it when that is broken somewhat and you see someone acting on pure emotion.
I understand football is an emotional sport and sometimes you have to accept a bit of language. He clearly was extremely frustrated at the time, hence the challenge on Garnacho in the first place. It would have been better and cheaper to take out his anger in the changing room!
Do people think this could be RMs last game? I keep thinking David moyes would be perfect to give ourselves a fighting chance of staying up
Hindsight is a wonderful thing, we knew JS was a passionate bloke from his reaction at Wembley, on this occasion his desire overwhelmed his emotions and he blew a fuse, he won't do it again and nor will a few others that see the severity of the punishment, but it won't be the last time it happens, that's the problem with being a human being.
Just got back from almost 4 days of no mobile connection at sea, woke up and read some of the whole string of posts, thought it was 2023 posts, then realised it was 2024.Deja vu time again!! Next game for me, Everton, will RM be around for that, could be, but looking less likely. Personally I’d like to see him turn everything around but getting less sure by the week.
