One of those games get them all the time. Dull affair but done enough. 2-0 would have pleased most before the game but somehow we expect more. We must be making progress then. Mundle and Isidor looking good but there's others , Watson . How to fit them in and how to keep them happy ? A fit squad with a bit of luck and another transfer window just months away. Very optimistic and keep saying the play offs here. 15 points from every 10 games and we'll be flying . Heading for 80 points. The top 8 in the table below have got around 2 points per game so far. That'll not last . When has the top six ended on 92 points ? Maybe the top 2 will get that . So some will begin to drift soon. Don't think it'll be us . Never thought I'd be saying it weeks ago. Haway the lads !!

How about if we do a 'crowdfunding' on here ...

... he'll probably end up getting the programme and being paid through University <laugh>

I’m loving Jobe this season, I thought last year every first touch or turn was backwards. This year it’s forwards and it looks like he’s cruising through games and full of confidence

He’s going to be elite imo

Wasn't sure whether to go tonight as I'm up at half 4 for graft ffs. Went by myself and took the car. Glad I did.

After the first 15 minutes I thought we never looked in much danger tbh. Some goal by Jobe, although he should've scored 5 minutes before.

Tonight was a game we'd draw or get beat in previous seasons. Once we went ahead we were professional.

Isidor looks a player and Mundle is class, glad he went down the line for the 2nd as he was cutting inside too much.

    Onto Leeds. Should be bouncing.

Edit. I'd definitely rest Rigg on Friday been quiet the last 2

I used to play in a five-a-side league where there was a cash prize for the winners.

We had a lad who had been on the books of Villa until he developed an injury that held him back.

We were all really committed and trained for games in advance.

This lad would never attend training sessions, would arrive minutes before kick off and fire goals in from every angle ...

... that's who Jobe reminds me of, clearly a class above.

Near me sorry, normal moaning at a thing he tries. Can’t do right in some eyes.

They came at us early doors like Sheff Wed did, trying to overwhelm us and get the first goal early on. Once we got through that and got a hold of the ball we gained control of the game. We were a little slow and pensive moving the ball at times and it made it harder to play through them. Our press was causing problems though and they kept giving the ball back to us.

It comes off a mistake but what a strike from Jobe. The keeper gets absolutely nowhere near it. A deserved lead without having blown them away.

Second half you want to see that control continue and for me the message at HT must have been to go a bit more direct to change the tempo. Its an excellent ball from Dan Neil to take their entire midfield out, before Jobe turns and spreads it wide from Mundle. Hes still got loads to do but fires an inviting ball across for Isidor who has that strikers knack of getting across the front post to finish. A tap in merchant, and I couldn't be happier.

We managed it well after that, they had moments but we survived. Another clean sheet, 6 wins from 8 and top of the league. Happy lads fan tonight!

Can't give this lad enough credit. Rare set of attributes that make him a supreme talent.

Have we missed him no , but that is not to say he isn’t a good player who did his best for the club and has set us up with a war chest to continue the climb

He seems to have the right attitude to go with that talent. Has been excellent since Clarke went, don't think he has had a poor game!

Don't worry mate, I'm not disrespecting Jack Clarke, I loved him here.

I was at Reading for the best Sunderland goal I've ever seen in fifty years ...

... how that wasn't goal of the season is a mystery tbh.

    Home and hally. And drunk.

Derby lads honest. Said we were im control after first 15 to end. Abiut right.

Mepham is so damn goos. Ballard is good, but tbis lad is next level. So comfy watching him.

Watson looks a real talent. Seems to havr all sorta. So good to see.

Neil played well. Solid. No dramas. Carried and screened. Captains organisation at times. Too important to consider dropping.

Pleasee for Wilson. Needa to be first to ball more oftem as spearhead, but he will do it, a timing issue I think.

Patto - couple of great stops and sweeper keeper was great once.

Happy days. Top of league for me boffdee, as they say down here..

Had a look on a Derby forum.
I like this reply (by a Derby fan) to one saying we looked distinctly average.....
