Well, it could always be worse... Bottom half of L1, negative GD, four losses in last six and no wins in three
Maybe I'm a bit sick in the head but I honestly think **** it, let's just ride out the season, no multiple ****ty changes of managers with each one getting worse! Yeah we may get relegated and honestly who cares, last season was a blast and more enjoyable than the last 4 or 5 seasons of flirting with relegation/getting relegated. I think I'd quite enjoy being a yo yo team. The Premier League is **** anyway, so far from what football should be about....everyone knows the Championship is where it's at!! And who knows, things might click and we may actually get some form together and stay in this ****...I mean great league!!
If it were sustainable then yes, it would be great. My worry is missing out on promotion and funds dropping then becoming another mid-table championship team… or worse. League 1 and the championship have many once-prominent premiership clubs languishing.
What is the parachute payment rule if you come straight back down? They only last for 2 years rather than 3? If we were to go down we wouldn’t have the £180m or whatever it was to sell either I don’t think, obviously far too early to have any idea who stays/goes in that scenario
I completely forgot about Ramsdale, that would be a big chunk, so yeah probably £100m+ would be achievable Anyway far too early to be thinking about that
And surely far too early to be thinking about changing managers. Let the team and the manager find their feet, we are not cut adrift by any stretch.
Each to their own of course, I’ve wanted him gone since this time last season so I don’t think it’s far too soon I do think we will stick with him for a little while yet though
Ordinarily 6 games into a PL campaign I would say the same. But I see nothing in the way he approaches games that makes me think we will improve. He won’t change the style of play at all and doesn’t vary his approach depending on the opposition. He won’t start our 2 best players (lallana and KWP), doesn’t know his best team. And he’s just started throwing the team under the bus. To me it already looks like the team is stopping playing for him. If we leave it much longer we will be cut adrift. Once we get to that point we become a much less attractive proposition for a manager. How long did it take for them to sack Ralph? Too long and it was too late. (I won’t go into his replacement as it’s a separate issue to pulling the trigger).
Admittedly I have not seen much. I have been too busy with a house renovation taking up most of my spare time. I have watched the highlights of the matches and read the reports though so have a fair idea of what's been happening. Maybe I just don't place as much importance on it as I used to, the game in general has gone too far towards the money/business side of things and as a result is not as much fun as it used to be. I would genuinely give him the season and if we go down, see if he can get us back up again.
Get where you're coming from but I don't think a team/club should ever acquiesce. No shame in relegation if the team fight tooth and nail for every point but fail but we are toothless and, even worse spiritless atm and harshly that's down to the manager and coaching staff, they may have been dealt a weak hand by the owners but should be fighting for every point within their limitations.
I have been of the similar opinion, however the Bournemouth performance has soured me on the prospect. I think the Leicester match is absolutely key, reckon anything other than a win there and he is in big trouble. Context, lose to Arsenal and Leicester and it is the joint worst start to a PL season by any side.
Not sure if this is the correct place to post this , so apologies if not . I read on a saints site on FB , someone said that it was all well and good calling for RM’s sacking ( and his staff I expect ) . But it will cost a lot , and we have to be very careful of the financial rules . I don’t have the first clue ( about anything really ) , I’m just curious to know if the poster was correct or not .
Alex Crook though. I think we can take from this that Dragan Solak is perfectly relaxed and happy with how things are.
I feel dirty, I actually agree with something Alex Crook has said (the latter part of the tweet). His credit is exhausted if we don't beat Leicester imo.
