Motown brings very happy memories of my mis spent youth

Smooching to this in the Cat Balou club in Sough circa '69 brings back very happy memories

Sounds of motown will always remain my favourite, not into heavy metal or similar.

Despised the hairies in my day!

    Mind Ive grown up now!!
    Well sort of.........................................

Sitting watching "Lock up" (sylvester stallone) and there was a part where they're doing up a car, with music accompanying the scene.
Clicked on Google listen, search for a song.
Turns out it's a song called Vehicle, by The Ides Of March.
    Brilliant this....

Without wishing to appear to be a 'music was better in my day' old fart, I have to say the current crop of adverts would seem to suggest it might be the case. I've noticed advertisers keep going back in time to find music that's outstanding and memorable. My current two favourites are these, completely different but both intriguing ...

... I love the slightly off key piano in the middle of this, wouldn't happen in these days of perfect production.

I bought The Killing Moon, thought it was a great song. Good to see it getting a bit play again.

The Thunderclap Newman one was used about 25 years ago for a telephone company. It wasn’t BT. Probably one of those upstart ones that fell by the wayside.
There’s a betting one here that uses this one by Minnie Riperton. As someone says in the comments to the song, the chorus is a religious experience.

Fabulous song, classy performer who just sang the song and didn't use it to show off.
