Whisper it. Don’t scare it away but don’t get too confident. We may actually be turning a corner. Ok, it was only Barrow and we were expected to beat them and best then we did, convincingly. But there was an element of style and swagger not seen at the bridge for a few seasons now. In games against more steadfast opponents, we seem to be able to grind out a decent result and we seem to know how to score again. I hate to say it, and hope not to jinx anything, but we’re actually not looking to bad. At this rate we might even be challenging for the top spot. Like I say, don’t say it too loudly. It could only be a matter of time before it blows up in our faces.
Well our performances against West Ham and Wolves looked very good. Our attacking side looks to be getting its act together, and we are scoring goals. Not convinced our defence is quite there yet tho. West Ham werent very good, their defending for our first goal was shocking, but after that we dominated them. Our defence will face sterner tests than Barrow though, and we need to get our act together at Home. We have been performing better away for the past couple of seasons than we have at home, which is odd. But, the Palace performance aside, we do look like we have hit the ground running this season and picked up from where we left off last season, which I was afraid we wouldnt what with the managerial change and the ****show and turmoil going on at board level. We aint getting anywhere near the top 2, but I think if we can keep going as we are going, we might be able to get back in the Champions League.
Lloooonng way to go, but no doubt we are going the right way. Pretty much every player is doing well, Mudryk not quite so well but it’s decision making he’s not got on top of. I think we need Lavia and Casiedo together to really step up. But Enzo is looking the one to sit out, too slow and poor defender. Best thing is we are finding a style which allows players to seamlessly drop into the Team, with others who can change things around. Looking up at last.
Make that 2 Swallows?? Crazy game, but terrific result and attacking game. Add “goalkeeper” to players we need, more than striker?? Funny times at Chelsea.
Our defence needs a lot of work still. I can’t understand why we’ve had our hands on world class goalies only to allow to leave. Is someone upsetting them?
Sanchez is a good shot stopper but a liability with the play out. I think we need to get a more reliable keeper. Good to see we are getting the best out of Sancho, I have seen this player play at youth level for Man City, followed his progress and believed he was a real talent that needed a club that trusted his ability. To think we have taken two of Man City's top talent's after De Brunne and Kovacic. I'm glad we made the deal.
I think it’s inevitable that we end up taking. Some of City’s gems. They are going through the same cycle that all who have been on top for a while go through. Established superstars, bulky squads, pressure to maintain position and trophies. Pep will find eventually that the damn will break and others are ready to pounce.
Amazing what a change of Club can sometimes do. Sancho has looked the business from game one with us, and was again really good today. Man Utd look like a basket case ( funny coming from Chelsea fan) and Sancho must have been caught up in the mess. Anyway, he's sorted out our left side and put poor old Mudryk out of business for the time being.
Aye it needed doing.... LOOK AT THE FLOWERS MIKHAILO! please log in to view this image Hoping Sancho keeps up his good performances too! We know he is capable of being a baller, from his days at Dortmund!
All true, but hate to see the potential of Mudryk go to waste, there's a good player there somewhere. Poor bugger is a victim of so many changes of playing styles and lousy decisions during his time with us. Now Maresca doesn't have the time to devote to him, nor the game time to bring him on that he needs, due to pressure on every Manager of Chelsea to fit 25 players into 11 spots !!
If we can get 2 wins from our next 3 league games (not expecting us to beat Liverpool), then we are in the race for top 4! I will believe it then! Our defence still needs solidifying, we need to find the best CB partnership and cement it and we still have an issue with injured fullbacks, but everywhere else on the pitch the team seems to be getting its act together.
I do think Enzo Fernandez is there only because of his price tag. Would much prefer Lavia beside Casiedo. He does the defending so Caseido can play his game , and we look so much more controlled and balanced. Liverpool do look really strong and it is City who are wobbling just a little.Still good enough to win things, but they have lost a gem in Rodri and have a few players at or near the end of their best. Shows how Teams need to constantly add and lose a couple of players to keep on top.
