Very good game to win...I doubted we would even hold on in the second half... . .and then we got that penalty..... great result...against a top team.... I am sure lots of learning points too...

Encouraging and positive first half ,

We sat back after the break and the subs weren’t great allowing Sunderland back in the game to dominate .

Definitely wasn’t wise to put Porteous at right back and was Georgi injured ?

But great run by Baah to win the penalty and we held on quite comfortably actually.

Have we won more games at home this season already than all of last season !?

Apparently Clevs is the first Watford manager to not lose at home in 10 games this goes back 120 years .....

I don't think Porteous was put on as right back - he replaced Festy as wing back.
    Was still a mistake though.

No - we missed a great chance there. The mackems goalkeeper was up for the corner. A big hoof from Bond might have secured goal of the season !

Derek Payne on TCR regarding Porteous

Ebosele had been booked, was short of full match fitness and there was a worry he might run out of legs and mistime a tackle and the only right footed option was Porteous

He did make his one a match blunder but as an attacking wing back it was just outside the Sunderland penalty area

We should have been 2 or 3 ahead at full time but Bayo does 3/4 of the role TC wants BUT is sadly lacking in front of goal

I have yet to see any point in Jebbison and he seem totally incapable of heading a ball at all let alone accurately, my choice would be to get Baah increasing game time and see if he can be the forward we need long term, he caused Man City a lot of problems albeit with some help from Bayo doing his 3/4 role

The substitutions were probably because of the mid week game away at Preston but we are now back on track and well in the mix for promotion
