Also to add to this, the two players you’re criticising were the reasons for our goal mate, Isidor looked a threat the whole game with his runs and movement, the whole team were sitting off like we did against boro in the first half, it wasn’t just him who wasn’t “engaging the press”

Very poor performance for me that. Even the second half 30 mins or so wasnt great, more down to Watford than us. With the exception of Roberts we seemed a mile off it. Cant understand why Roberts was off, very strange sub.

I really hope Regis has more about him than this out of possession formation. Today didnt really look the game for that at all, and first half we were awful as a result. We have players who want to be on the ball dictating play, dominating possession and attacking their box.

Dan Neil has been poor by his standards so far. Mind you I thought he was excellent against Boro so I am not going to be short memoried about it. Awful decision today for the penalty, and a poor performance all round. But the amount of time he is having to cover that right hand side challenge is noticeable. We havent got that side defensively sorted, unlike the left. I wont demand him dropped because I dont know enough about the others who could play there. Browne cant play there imo, but who knows when he is fit. Samed the same, needs to be fit before we know if he is any good or not. Aleksic has a lot of development ahead of him before he could be trusted in thag role as Regis wants it played. Players have poor games and bounce back, players have poor runs and bounce back. They are human. I would let Neil have his chance to find his form back. I think he has earned that from us to be honest. He has always been one to get stick from some fans, from his first few games. He has proved them wrong plenty of times. I bet he will again. He is too talented not too.

 

That's become the lazy assumption this season by the football geniuses

Anyway, im 100% raging right now which will cloud my judgement. But to me, Neil has been poor the whole season, he’s a quality player but I don’t know what it is about our system, he’s doesn’t seem to be doing it for me.

I also wouldn’t swap, Jobe, Rigg or Browne for him either further forward.

Will be very interesting to see how Samed fairs.

Positives to take for me was Isidor looked very threatening and lively, made some good runs and constantly ran down the right channel, scored a proper strikers goal with a good move and first timed finish and had two canny chances early on too.

Good to see Roberts, using his right more often and Mundle always looks bright to me.

 

Right, so his consistent poor performances where he constantly gets bypassed with ease and even has a lot of misplaced passes in that position means he’s good and my opinion is wrong and I’m lazy?

 

Or by the performance and stats of said performances ? People were worried about him being placed there and he simply has been poor with a red card, and game losing mistake.

 

It’s beyond a joke now, it’s kinda infuriating seeing people tell me I’m jumping on a bandwagon or I’m lazy etc because I can ****ing see it with my own two eyes

 

And i've gave credit to them in this thread. Mayenda offers more than Isidor off the ball, it's a plain fact and when you have less of the ball you need players who offer a lot out of possession. Their CBs were killing us with passes into their floating 10s and the wing backs, that doesn't happen as much if Mayenda is on the pitch.

Neil is a reason why we lost, not the sole reason. He should be dropped when Samed is available.

Played there all of last season and did well
Couple of quiet games this season and the knives are out for the local lad.

Don't know about the captaincy weighing heavy on Neil but I wonder if the contract situation is.

From what I saw of Derby today they can one hundred percent be got at they were all over the place at the back at times, threat going forward themselves though and a fair bit of pace in the side, still a game we should be looking to take 3 points from
