Chelsea are one if the biggest clubs in the world and the mood of this side is at an all time low. You thought Chelsea were ****e last season but they still finished above us.
I told you in January or February that they'd undoubtedly finshed ahead of Newcastle. It was literally the same kind of conversation to this
Sure, but with their crazy policy it's bound to need time. Even with all the madness and a huge headstart, they overhauled us - against the chaos and lack of consistency you claim they have, which makes less sense than what I'm saying! To think they're not miles ahead with a £3bn valuation and some hugely impressive players is bonkers. And although I didn't say they were playing miles better than us, it's more an indictment of how bad we've been. Our transfers have been non-existent and the players look lost, disinterested, bored, uninspired, etc. What I wouldn't give to have Madueke (who I think I was derided for claiming was a decent player), Palmer, Nkunku or others at our club just to make us interesting, dynamic. Palmer - £40m. Madueke - £28.5m. Barnes - £38m. Hall - £30m. They. Are. Miles. Ahead.
Trying to make out we've had some "head start" over Chelsea in terms of take overs is ludicrous even for you. They've been minted every since Abramovich and in that respect had a 15 year+ head start on us. Boehly has come in like an utter clown and turned them from title contenders to just about top half. You then try to go for the disinterested and bored angle, but that is entirely a Chelsea problem not us, overpaid players with huge egos hardly ever getting to play creating negativity. You finally go for your Barnes Is Crap broken record, which for some reason you refuse to give up despite him scoring every game.
Headstart last season mid-point on points, not on takeovers!! If you dont think our players look out of sorts, that's up to you. Barnes has had a few good games, but surely we're not saying he's better than Cole Palmer?
He’s average. I don’t think he’s any good. I wanted him and probably was fooled by his performances in the euros.
Hard to say. They've only played one team that are likely to finish in the top 7 and they lost (2-0 at home to Man City). We've played two and we got a win and a draw. I expect Chelsea to finish ahead of us but they certainly seem to be less than the (considerable) sum of their parts. I've got a few Chelsea fan friends and they are of the view that the team relies heavily on individual brilliance and that they are going to make some pretty hefty losses on some of their players (Mudryk, Caceido, Fernandez, Fofana, Cucurella, etc) when they move them on.
