I know this has **** all to do with us but thought I'd share it nonetheless.

Loads of journo's saying it's a done deal and an official announcement is expected tonight or tomorrow morning.

    Thoughts?

Think it's 50/50 with him will either work really well or go worse than Bruce IMO, will need money in January which I imagine he'll have !

There's a lot of **** players there that he'll have to scrape by with until Jan. Then he'll probably sign a load of Celtic cast offs to partner the Man U cast offs.

He's been out of football for a while now + their team is ****.

They'll struggle until January but if they spend big (again...) and he uses his money right then they could have a better second of the season.

Big risk from Short to pump yet more money into what will presumably be ANOTHER "revolution".

"The job of reviving a big club in front of 47,000 supporters appeals greatly - that was one of the things that appealed about the Aston Villa job and he thinks the Stadium of Light would be just as intoxicating given the fanatacism of the supporters" ........hahaha both dull places.

"I understand he's well aware that there will be no money available after the summer transfer activity of around £23m but he is happy to work with what he inherits. ...... Bramble and Turner !!!

Now all the mackems are syaing bring back Riveros and Gyan all is forgiven !!!!!

There is a reason we cal them SMB`s !!!!!

He'll get frightened when he fully realises he has no money to spend, and that they could get relegated.

At least there will be some decent derby competition. Pardew and Hughton were both too good for Bruce.

Not worried at all if they get O'neill, millions going to be wasted, if he gets much money in the first place. Maybe he will buy Heskey and go back to long ball.

Lets just see how it pans out, I bet even the most die hard Newcastle fan, when you sacked Hughton and brought in Pardew were thinking, Oh ****!! but look what Pardew has done with very little cash.

Not saying MON will follow suit (if it is indeed MON nothing confirmed yet) but lets be honest here, apart from the top 6 (and even some of those are not firing atm) the rest of the league is pretty dire (including us atm), so i dont think it will take a whole lot to get climbing up the league, can we catch you, I hope so, my gut feeling was we can and that was before Bruce was sacked, but its going to be bloody hard work.

Top 10 will do me again this season, actually just avoiding relegation will, but i do believe we can do a lot better than that, Europe and a cup run are still a bit away though, so I am not totally deluded, but football is a funny ****ing game, anything can happen.

Really unconcerned by this news. I think O'Neill is a very overrated manager.

He'll either have no money to spend and have to make do with what he has, in which case good luck to him (he'll need it) or they will give him money they can't afford to spend, which he will waste much as he did at Villa.
