Southside of the new footbridge

Just watched the latest video of the construction and looking at the South side and I have read some where that it will make the stadium more accessible on matchday and when other events will be on. I am therefore assuming that this will hopefully add that much needed parking? Anyone know what is planned?

 

By Southside are you talking about Keel Square or are you looking more specifically at the Vaux site?
On the Vaux site just about everything has started, they are working on the eye infirmary now and have also started on the housing.
There was talk and some artists impressions that appear to show the dual carriageway being reduced to a normal two lane road with new offices and buildings going on high street west, Marks & Spencer, Argos / Mothercare, BHS sites etc. But, no formal planning applications are in, other than for the demolition of the Argos / Mothercare building. I'm not aware of any additional car parking.
On the Northside there are plans to put a new bridge and underpass arrangement in over the gulley and old cobbled path leading down to the river near the stadium. The intention being to have a straight path from the new bridge to the stadium.

The only additional parking on the southside that I know of is the new multi storey up beside currys.

Thanks guys. I appreciate your input but was kind of hoping for just across the water from the Sheep folds or as close as possible. Currently parking near Southwick or using the park & ride. Both require getting there a bit too early especially near Southwick. Just thought wouldn't be great if we could park up and just walk over the bridge. Just a thought cheers

The new car park next currys will get you to the sheepfolds in a few minutes once the bridge is open. There is a path they are opening from the car park to Gill bridge which takes you straight to the new bridge.

 

Good news for the pubs there

 

I think St Mary's car park is going to be toast as part of the Vaux redevelopment btw. If you are struggling for parking, I've seen loads parking outside the halfway house and on the grass slightly further up.

 

and the one where Sinatra's was in Holmeside it's finished but not open yet for some reason
