Good Morning. It's Tuesday 24th September and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road 49ers open talks with James over new terms Leeds are gearing up to offer Dan James a new deal, highlighting his pivotal role as one of the key attacking players at the club. The 49ers group are keen on securing his long term future at Elland Road and are initiating talks to extend his stay, ensuring there are no uncertainties as his current contract reaches its final 18 months. For the 49ers, providing the Welsh International with an upgraded contract is a strategic move, given his significant impact last season. His 13 goals and 8 assists over just 2500 minutes of game time (nearly half what some players managed) had a significant impact on last seasons standings. If James can stay fit this time around, there is no reason why he can't exceed these figures. please log in to view this image Has Piroe earnt a recall With 2 goals and an assist in just 132 minutes of game time this season, Leeds front man Joel Piroe could be due a start at home against Coventry City at the weekend. His clinical finish at the Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday will no doubt give Daniel Farke food for thought about how best to turn dominance into goals. Even the travelling contingent were getting fed up with their latest lacklustre performance, booing Gruev when passing backwards, and continual chants of attack, attack, attack. We've already played the bottom three, who between them, have already shipped 38 goals, yet Leeds have only managed to find the back of the net nine times this season, the same amount as Millwall - even Oxford Utd (10) have scored more. Like it or not but Daniel Farke is now under pressure. His failure to revert from his traditional 4/2/3/1 when the Bluebirds went down to ten men has come under criticism, as has his use of substitutes, which once again were not introduced until the 84th minute. Is Piroe the answer? please log in to view this image
Morning all, good move offering James a new contract, nice to be deciding Joseph or Piroe and not worrying about Bamfords absence
I wonder could Piroe end up like Chris Fairclough, the ginger lad at Liverpool years ago. Was dynamite for a last twenty minutes or half hour but not great when starting and playing full game. Only one way to find out. Has anyone else ever considered Bamford's issues might not be all physical. Having watched the Burnley documentary, they had a striker who got off to a great start at the club, but had to take a long break due to issues with state of mind. Ultimately possibly cost them survival as when he retuned, too late, he continued to score. Don't like mentioning it but maybe a possibility
Morning all. For me, Piroe has to play in a 2 pronged attack, he's not a 9, that would obviously mean changing our shape, which I can't see happening.i made my feelings clear at the end of last season, on Farke, Saturday just showed how limited he is in his thinking, still playing Gruev and Ampadu against a team that were just prepared to sit back and hopefully catch us on the break, I would have thought, Rothwell would have been ideal in that situation. Be good to get James to extend his contract
I think there are certainly confidence issues with Bamford, how deep that goes I've no idea but there seems something a miss.
Saturday was piss poor tactically, when the Cardiff lad got red then give it to half time to see what shape they are going to play. Take Firpo off, Piroe on, play a back three and push every one up 20% in the field, hug the touch lines and keep pumping it into the box with Piroe and Joseph waiting for the chances, it’s not rocket science but we seem to make it hard for ourselves, Farke has to start being attack minded and be ruthless. One other point I would like to make us that the Spurs loanee Solomon who incidentally is way above anything we have upfront in terms of thinking and sharpness, the slip he had which led to Burnley’s goal !!! why on earth are see watering the pitch prior to kick off???? God knows we have had a very wet year and I think the ground is wet enough ffs. Rant over, good morning all btw.
We are OK guys. We create more chances than anyone else and have the least amount of shots on goal against us. That usually wins leagues. This is Farkes best start to a season in the Championship (including Norwich) and he has won it twice and came third with 90 points last season. I would say that Meslier, Bogle, Rodon, Joseph, Rothwell, Wober are out of form at the moment too. We have had a few promising glimpses of Tanaka, Ramazani. Calling for the managers head is ridiculous at this point.
It's easy to get them confused to be fair. This is Chris Fairclough.... please log in to view this image This is David Fairclough...... please log in to view this image Or is it the other way around??
Afternoon all. Off to España on Saturday (on the old red eye 06.05 take off) so hopefully the local bar will find the Leeds game for me, he usually does if one of the tellies are free. San Miguel and the match
