Don't get me wrong, I'm happy as he is ...

... he's not one for chit-chat during the game either, just totally focussed on the game.

He'll love it. Like I said the photo was totally self indulgent. Benno was probably one of those players I looked for at Roker and enjoyed watching. Brought back some great memories. Even showed the grandson the run in with Speedie! <laugh>

We were talking to a Plymouth taxi driver about Speedie, he was there supporting the other side ...

... send me a PM, with your details, and I'll send a transfer.

My Uncle Mervyn gave me a Charlie Hurley rosette, 60 years back, so I should return the 'favour' <laugh>

So get promoted buy 2/3 average premiership players on big salaries, upset the rest of the squad get relegated after being walloped every game, half the squad leaves after being thoroughly pissed off, sounds like a cracking idea mate. I would prefer to wait and come up with a side like we and the mags had and I’m afraid that’s not this season.<ok>

I agree with you but I think we have a few players in this squad that can play in the premier. Whether we can stay there if another matter

Luton made a fist of it having gone up and nearly survived. Stopping up without spending beyond your means isn’t an insurmountable task.

Completely agree in principle, but don’t think we’d come up with a side like that without getting parachute payments first.

And also we won’t know we’ve got that side until we’re promoted anyway.
My only point is I’d never turn down promotion. Might not get another chance

Also we can say “not this year” as much as we want. Eventually it might become never.

Yes, we sit in the Premier Concourse and have been able to each him on the touch line. He is very focused and you can see him moving players positions around through game. Sometimes it looks like he’s moving a player a yard or two , not more, just tweaking it very slightly, always signalling a change of shape or getting them back into shape.

I can’t remember having a manager so switched on during games.

On the flip side, they didn’t stop up, they beat us in the playoffs and now they are 15th in the Championship. You are definitely winning me over.

The alternative could be never getting promoted though. You can’t just say “no it’s okay let’s do it next year”.

Why would it be never getting promoted? If you go up you go up, but don’t think for one minute it will help us if we are not good enough, it won’t.

People clamour for managers that are animated on the touchline, think I prefer his more calm and calculated manner.

He is a Mag. Probably laughing at us moaning about his soundbites tbh. He isnt relevant to us, in the same way other manager comments arent.

His side were outcoached yesterday. And we had the best player on the pitch doing what only he could have done. I dont dislike him at all, but he needs to review his in game changes as they were tactically poor. Any coach who replaces 2 wingers with 2 wingers when they are facing the low block with no joy doesnt deserve a point. My thoughts anyway.

I can only speak for myself but I was laughing at him, not moaning ...

... to say Boro 'took the game to us' by keeping the ball in the own half and failing to have any attempts at goal is hilarious ...

... not up to the Brendan Rodgers level of hypocrisy but funny all the same <laugh>

If he's laughing at our daft comments, after a derby defeat, that makes him even sadder.

And besides, on a chat forum football thread, I'd say anything to do with the game is relevant tbh.

The game was yesterday so everything is just chit-chat that has no effect.

Fair enough. Just seems we all, me included, get a bit het up about what others think of us.

In reality coaches post game interviews are a bit worthless. They havent had chance to review the performance in any real way, and emotion plays a part. I would be massively surprised if Carrick is saying to his team this week what he said to the media. Too much is made of what coaches say to the media imo.

I don't actually care mate, it's more to laugh at them and wind up any Boro fans looking in.

Carrick was making out our celebrations were down to beating the side he's assembled. The reality is that we'd just created club history and gone top of the table. It's his arrogance I'm laughing at. It makes him look silly claiming, to millions, that Boro were the better team ...

... no big deal but I never miss a chance to have a laugh at these people.
