carrick needs to sit down and watch the full 90 again and come back with an unbiased view of the game and if he still wants to cry over 1 decision that he felt was wrong then he should leave coaching. boro had at least two players that should have had a 2nd yellow and we should have had at least one penalty (from another ayling foul), fact is he lost it tactically, no matter how much of the ball they had they could do nothing with it, as i said in my first post they wanted to drag us out to give them space and just looked foolish standing still with no idea what to do, after that they had no chance.
Thing is with Carrick, he's done "okay" as a coach. Yes Man U were in a **** place but they still had good players at the club, at Boro he's had them pushing for playoffs but without them getting there. We got in with Mowbray in charge that first season back. I don't think they would've beaten us last season if Neil didn't get sent off and think they only beat us down there cos Stewart got injured. In all, I don't think Carrick has that good a record against us
We're miles behind the prem. Watching City v Arsenal and I'm scared what one if these teams could do to starting 11. Even the likes of Forest are starting to get to grips of playing there
I really don't think a promoted club can realistically stay in the premier league without breaking financial fair play rules. And even then it's a massive gamble, it's something we just wouldn't do I think the style we play is more suited to the premier than most in the championship but I certainly wouldn't be expecting to stay up. It would be a massive party though after the **** we have been through...and the income would be absolutely invaluable.
Worry about it if we get there. £100 million even if we finish bottom. I doubt this regime will waste that on disinterested players.
Said the same myself earlier, in my opinion we'd edged that first half and were the better team, that sending off changed everything. It gutted our midfield and gave them the momentum. I've always said we'd not have lost and most likely won if we'd stayed at 11 v 11. And you're right about the game down there, the Stewart injury happened in the pre-match warm up which deflated us resulting in a flat performance. Plus people forget that Pritchard missed a really good chance at 0-0. Personally, I think Carrick is playing the old Ferguson game of picking on an incident to blame the result on and deflect from him getting the whole game plan wrong.
Back on yesterday. I decided to be slightly self indulgent on a photo for my grandson. He got his photo taken with some of the players as well as Reggie - Wilson is quickly becoming a favourite with his personality but we got in the ground when it was half empty and decided to get a photo of my grandson with Gary Bennett. Brilliant 5 mins with him and worth the climb up to the radio booth. Tried to put a photo up but it's too large
This. I made the mistake of thinking “it’s too soon” when we lost in the playoffs to Luton. It’s never too soon. Bank the parachute payments and invest again so that next time it’s not too soon.
That's no good mate, get the photos on. Try sending it to yersel, on WhatsApp or whatever, then drag it into your post. If not there's other ways to do it ..., gan on
I agree, he was out thought yesterday. He had watched us play and listened to the analysis which was saying we pressed high up the field, however he missed the bit about us not going gung-ho but waiting for the right time to press. He was expecting us to press up n his defence from the first minute, so wanted his defence to hold up the ball and take it closer to their box and draw out our players before playing into the gaps we would leave. This was also the tactic with the goal kicks. RLB obviously saw this and we just didn’t take the bait, meaning the gaps Carrick wanted to use to play between our lines were never there. We have a very intelligent manager and a team happy to play to his instructions.
He's clearly not here to be loved and make friends. Just watch him at the end of matchday interviews ... ... no happy banter with the interviewer, he just turns away thinking 'I've better things to do than this shyte'
Staggering that Carrick didnt realise this after the first 5 minutes, with their CH standing with the ball and us refusing to take the bait
I think I haven’t explained myself very well. I mean get promoted, and use the parachute payments properly. Even if you get relegated, you’re in a strong position to get promoted again, that’s all. my point being we’d be better off in 2 years, even if relegated, having spent a year in the premier league than we would be having stuck in mid table championship
I think part of that is that he only started learning English two years ago, when he decided he wanted to manage in England. As his English gets better his interviews will improve.
Being promoted now and coming back down would mean being in the Championship in three seasons time ... ... going up next season would mean starting the season in the PL. It all depends on your priorities I suppose.

The gap is only getting bigger though. There’s never a bad time to be promoted and grow your turnover x5 I’d love to see what this recruitment team could do with premier league money
