Looks like he's gone on a PR offensive this week, first the great move to name the stand after Gary and now he says he wants promotion this season... http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11688/7344272/Bates-We-need-promotion Interesting that he said that when SG said we'll get promoted this season, his response was "then why are we 5th?". Do you think SG will be shown the door if we fail this year? Personally, I'd rather underachieve and finish outside the play-offs then lose in them, as it'd make the team "un-lucky" rather than "not good enough". Let's hope he agrees with us that the team's not good enough for promotion as yet and digs a mil or two our this January... *wakes up from dream*. Still want him out, too much BS flying around rather than pure investment and promotion. MOT!
This is all well and good as long as he gives Larry what he wants in January. If not it's all just noise.
"If it went by financial fair play, my club Leeds would be in the Champions League. It pays for itself," Bates added.
BATES would be stupid to get riD of SG AND THTA SOMETHING HE ISN,T but to say we need promotion when you spend £67k on players just beggars believe
I agree I could turn around and say to the wife we need a new kitchen but I wouldnt expect to get one unless I paid for it!
I hope this means splashing the cash from the sale of Gradel in January,& that Grayson invests it wisely. A pacey,left-sided winger,an experienced,leader-type CB in the Richard Dunne mould,& a quality RB would cement a play off place & have us pushing for auto with Saints & WHU still to come to Elland Road. If Grayson wastes any money he receives & we fall short of even a play off spot he'll probably be sacked by the season end. That may be slightly unfair but if Bates finally loosens the purse strings he won't want to see the money wasted.
"Its for the fans sake" Since when has KB thought about you guys?( or morons as KB refers to you) BTW Respect for Speedo`s tribute on Saturday
I know how people feel about Ken Bates but i think fans are hard on him. Admittedly, calling the fans morons (which he didnt call all fans morons just the ones protesting) was a out of order but i think the way the club is being run, it will have some real money in a few years without any threat of bankruptcy
This relies on his property developments being a substantial success, which I can almost guarantee they won't be.
We would need investment, but only in a few key areas. Going forward I'm comfortable with what we have, it's just our defence that still worries me. Lets just hope Ken can find the key for those pockets of his.
Last I heard the only reason it hasn't been knocked down is because Bates still owns part of it and is being stubborn.
