Yeah, I mean if you know anything, it's that Ipswich are only dead once the final whistle has blown. Was absolutely the same last season with them.
Nonsense. The first one wasn't a sitter, and yeah he maybe could/should have done better with the second, but he's not **** in front of goal.
What would you call one on one with the keeper from about 10 yards out like he was at the start of the second half? He also tried to be clever taking it round the keeper in the first half and as a result went too wide after a heavy touch. Good strikers bury those chances.
Yep, but also that mentality comes from the manager, the belief he installs and the way he sets them up. I thought I[swick looked more dangerous than us going forward, and about the same defensively.
Archer had a great game I thought tbh. First chance that hit the post was composed & unlucky. The toe poke was a great run & control. Fernandes pass (was meant to be a shot!) he nearly squeezed onto too. A lot more to be happy with going forward. Referee has a lot to answer for imo. Had an absolutely shocking game - if it wasn’t for all his non fouls then he wouldn’t have added 7 mins (even though it was no way more than 3/4mins added anyway!) Think Bednarek & Taylor just don’t look sharp enough on the passing at the back.
9 goals conceded, 4 from us losing possession, 1 from not defending a throw in, 3 from not defending corners well enough and 1 from open play when THB played Dalot onside by being too deep. I think it’s fair to say that we are our own worst enemy, but something that absolutely must be remedied on the training ground. Pulling every outfield player into an area smaller than a a bus, when defending corners where the opposing team only have 7 players in the box, is ludicrous. We need to keep a couple of them on or near the 18 yard line to help clear balls we head out. It’s not rocket science ffs.
The only thing I would disagree with @Le Tissier's Laces on was BBD. I thought he was quite good today. They played the exact anti-Saints style and we held on and kept going in our own way. Even the commentators, who started sceptical, grew in admiration for it- and didn't see Ipswich getting that late goal. There is something to take from that. Not every Prem team will be willing to work like dogs like Ipswich did.
Admittedly I'm still sore but that was atrocious from Aribo. Face up to the shot instead of turning away from it and he stops that instead of deflecting it. Defending 101.
