This brainless lesson brought to you by Bissouma.

Brentford equaliser is almost inevitable at this stage.

If he scores in the last 15 minutes I will eat my words, but I'm not sure having Son still out there is helping us.

Udogie gets done by a late challenge, worse than the Bissouma yellow and it's just a free kick.

Good win, 3-1 after going behind.
Quite a few positives - especially us looking more...positive.
Missed chances and weird goalkeeping didn't derail the victory, but raises some other questions.

Deserved that. They were really good today. Anyone know how Newcastle got on?

Happy with that! Could easily have scored more but I wished we got the third goal earlier so that the youngsters could have got more minutes.

I was surprised Vicario got away with the handball. :emoticon-0136-giggl

Son was wasteful again but got two assists.

Maddison, Kule and solanke did okay as did Johnson.

I think today the team tried to play more direct and were happy to concede possession in doing so. The second half possession was 50/50. Possibly a tactical change.

This should earn Ange a reprieve from those calling for his head!

Thought the first half was really good after the first 23 seconds. We should have been more clinical but to pull apart Brentford like that takes some doing and we looked excellent.

Towards the mid point of the second half we ran out of puff a little, some players looked a little tired and sloppy. Son had a few moments where you expect him to score or make a better decision. We obviously rode our luck at times (Vicario, my god!) but saw out the game.

Bentancur had a really good game I thought, Udogie looks like he’s playing himself back into form, and great for Johnson and Solanke both to score. Kulu really knits everything together so well. Maddison my MOTM though, he was simply unplayable today. The way he twists and turns with the ball, that’s what we need from him. And what a finish to kill the game off.

For all of vicario’s dodgy moment he made 2 world class saves to keep us ahead.

Really good win. Amazing how quickly things can change in 3 days. Around 88 minutes into the Coventry games it was looking really bad for Ange but now everything seems far more positive.
Hopefully we can have another good win in the week to give us confidence going into Sundays game v United.

Has anyone seen Munse btw? Funny how he goes AWOL as soon as Newcastle lose <laugh>

Was an excellent game...more even in the second but we absolutely deserved the win.
We played with speed and pressed as a team. The only negatives were the misses IMHO.

Didn’t get to see the game today.

after what we’ve been served up recently, I can’t believe what I’m reading on here!

    a strong performance?
2 goals in a week for Johnson?
    Even Maddison with a contribution?

    what happened?

Maddison, solanke, bentancur all excellent today. That could have been 5 or 6 and Brentford getting 2 would have been harsh.

Some good showings today…just a bit fragile with the mentality it feels - always a few chances available to the opposition to make a result look quite different.

We have to start rebuilding that confidence somehow and this was a great way to do it.
