We don’t deserve to win tbh. Been a pretty inept performance in all honesty. We never look like scoring.
Some goal though it has to be said. Heartbreaking. Thought we much better second half which makes it harder to take.
We didn’t create enough but we pretty much kept them at arms length second half and the only real danger was always our inability to defend a set piece. We need to be putting someone on the edge of the box to stop players from having the time to control the ball before shooting. The poor set piece defending is down to the coaching team and has to be improved.
Yeah but we can’t change the manager for some weird reason, as it is too early, he doesn’t tell the team how to play, or he does tell them how to play. Honestly, we were pretty poor today, played better v Utd. If I were in charge, and sorry to say I’m not, he’d be gone over the weekend. Whilst we were poor, Ipswich were there to be beaten, same as both games last season V Ipswic. Only difference is our manager isn’t as good as theirs. I still think we have a good enough squad to stay up, but wont if we carry on with Russell.
We can't afford to have Dibling and Fernandes off the pitch, sadly. We just aren't cohesive without them.
Some revisionist history from some of you lot. We were far the better team second half and created some decent chances. Yeah, first half was poor but saying we created nothing is nonsense.
Okay, that's a killer for us (and I have no idea where the ref got 7 minutes from), but let's look at it sensibly and there were positives in there - we got our first point we should probably have seen that out for three Dibling is sensational Fernandes is not far behind that. Fabulous signing. Sugawara isn't miles behind that either. Excellent signing. Archer looked a lot better today. We did a goal. A few questions though - Ben Championship-Diaz looks like he can annoy other teams and be niggly, but I don't see a whole lot more than that. Can Ross Stewart jump? It's all very well being tall and leggy etc, and who knows, maybe he can finish. But he doesn't jump. It's weird. We have a lot of 'squad fillers' who are Championship level players. We have too few PL level players. I'm properly gutted not to have seen that one through, but I do think there's still something to work with here.
If we had scored a second like we should have done it wouldn't have mattered. Archer is ****ing ****.
