Coyle, best player on the pitch. Miller, changed the game when he came on, constant threat to Stoke, even if his crosses were wayward. Jones. ... Mention in despatches, Slater, great goal, Palmer, always looking to play and took his chances well. He looks a good signing. Pandur, looked solid tonight, perhaps his best game so far? The away support was good too. To out sing Stoke away takes some doing, but they did it. To be honest, I feared the worst after that first half, especially against them because they are a dirty bunch and always have been v City, going back to that FA Cup quarter final in 70/71 and the Watney Cup Final. Have a look at how they tried to nobble Waggy after he'd scored in the Watney Cup game. Some things never change.
Coyle Palmer Belloumi Really struggled to pick to be honest. A lot of players did things well but had reasons not to be included. Drameh was tidy but caught in possession twice early on. Millar made things happen but his end product was atrocious at times. Slater's goal was perfectly taken but he was only a sub. Palmer feels like a cheap pick because the goals weren't actually that creditable to him, but there are few other candidates. Belloumi looked a threat throughout although he frustrated me at times too.
Palmer - 2 goals.... did well Slater - What a finish Coyle - leads by example Millar was very good when he came on, has been every game tbh.
Pandur defo worth a mention, save before the goal was outstanding and he really hasn't done much wrong since the season started
Coyle Drameh Millar Honourable mentions to Palmer (gets the headlines for a penalty rebound and 'creating' an OG; decent performance but not troubling the top 3 for me), Slater (very well taken goal and added some needed energy), Pandur (solid again), McLoughlin. Thought Zambrano looked tidy on the ball but surely has to get involved more; can't believe Walter instructs to never play through CM?.
Palmer. Slater Millar Special mention to grandpa Joe for calling up Humbersaard on Friday night Freshers week. Obviously isn't going as well as it should be.
Palmer Millar Coyle Palmer also came across really well in his post match interview too. I think he'll be worth his weight in gold this season both on the pitch and in the dressing room.
Got to be Coyle for me outstanding display Especially first half when others weren’t at it as well palmer going to make us tick Alfie jones thought he had a great game
