Poor first half but at least we were capable of raising our game and deserved that win in Stoke tonight. Pivotal result of our season or did we simply play a side worse than us?

Time will tell I suppose .

Baffles me why Millar didn’t start and why Stoke didn’t have two or three reds. But that was a great win. Even the short corners had improved (a bit). Palmer looks a great buy, Millar and Belloumi too. Slater’s goal was a beaut. Zambrano was v classy till crocked. All in all, a brilliant confidence-boosting win.

Well what a 2nd half, a bit of luck, a great finish and a bit more luck, still far to open but it's a massive and much needed win to hopefully get us going.

I definitley think Ömür has to make way for Cardiff. We looked a lot more purposeful after he went off and he just doesn't have any end product.

Good win although mitigated by absence of wins in the league/cup/friendlies and training 5 a sides. Must be 1 win in 150 or summat?

Tonight raised another question for me though:

Was Stoke's manager wearing make up?

Yeah, he ran his bollocks off pressing, making runs in behind and generally causing a nuisance. I like to think him clattering Johansson wobbled him and helped us heap on pressure. Considering Stoke were committing GBH all game, I don’t mind having our big ****er stick one on their keeper and showing a bit of nastiness.

Baz: For Acun Ilicali, who made the trip to Stoke from Istanbul, it was one worthwhile and now, he'll hope his side can back it up against bottom side Cardiff next weekend on a day of special significance for the club as they celebrate their 120th anniversary.

Millar changed the game. He doesn’t always have an end product but if he did he wouldn’t be playing in this league. He’s just so direct whenever he gets the ball he just brings everyone higher up the pitch.

Although he did a couple of poor crosses I like the way he tries some adventurous passes instead of safety first all the time.

I was really frustrated with him when he came on because his crosses were so poor but credit to him, he’s direct, quick and we look more dangerous when he plays.
