Didn't the greatest manager in Europe inspire us to a win there? Or have we (maybe rightly) erased that period from the history books
Great penalties from the lads, about the only highlight other than Dibbers Thought Bree had a decent game too
I admit I thought Aribo was going to miss. I thought he'd do a stupid stutter pen and **** it up completely.
Let’s be honest though… we are ****ing ****e and offer barely any attacking threat again. Can’t really judge off a cup game. But… hope to see improvements on Sat in almost all areas
I can't give Lallana MOTM just for 45 minutes. But yet again he was the class player on the pitch. Great to see him coming off at HT because, assuming no injury, that surely means he'll be starting vs Ipswich. I got the feeling that all five subs were pre-planned, given their timings. The triple sub had a somewhat negative impact in that it disrupted our rhythm. I think in normal circumstances we wouldn't have done that. Armstrong and Wood both had their own battle our worst player.
The important thing for me tonight was that we looked so much better when Fernandes and Dibling came on. I actually thought Diaz looked quite good when cut in off the left as well. Plus Lallana still has the ability to find bags of time and space on the ball.
