Weakness begining to show this early...............the draw people are out in force already. Shocking support.
Nothing from Musty again unfortunately. Hope everything is OK. Blackburn, Derby, Middlesbrough and Watford get strong endorsements to win, with either 6 of the 7 submissions or all 7 of us tipping them to win. the games at Hull and Leeds are where there is most variety in the predictions and that may be where it's won or lost. As usual, the jokers are pretty well spread: only Middlesborough gets two from natural causes I think: Joe and Sensible have also both gone for Oxford but that may be high rollers gambling on the 12 points! Plym and SMH are on 45 minutes for the first goal at Home Park but Joe may have shot their fox this time by expecting a single goal well into the second half for a 1-0 Argyle win. Sunderland have scored 10 in their first 4 games (and we've conceded 7) so a dull 1-0 or 0-1 would be quite an outcome.... I'd rather like to thing we'll get our scoring boots on, possibly with Tijani and Al Hajj making an impact and whatever it is, it's high scoring both ways. We'll see....
There must be something strange happenings in the heavens. There's been a second attempt to assassinate Trump and I've had a second decent result in a row in the forecasts. The ploy of putting jokers on the Super Match paid off for Away and Sensible making Oxford v Stoke the biggest source of points. Shame about Schumacher eh? Sensible also had a very creditable 7 scoring games out of 12 to achieve 14 points. I got the Goal Time for once (21 minutes v 24 actual). Middlesbrough and Watford, which the group unanimously tipped for home wins, let us down badly. Sensible leapt into first place, no doubt due the Gods rewarding him for always putting Argyle down to win. I look forward to us drawing Manchester City away in the Cup to see just how far his optimism goes! I advanced further from Rock Bottom to Mid-Table Mediocrity. I'll never last, I tell you. That was the 5th round of games, so 10% of the season is already behind us. In celebration, I've produced a new graph. I'll work out what it means in due course. For now, let's just admire Sensible's rocketing ascent.
As is usual at the moment, the round starts at 8m on Friday and runs through to Sunday. As a change, the Super Match involves two tail-enders, Luton Town (19th, 4 points) and Sheffield Wednesday (20th, 4 points). As we move into the second decile of the season, we'll have double points. All in except Musty at the moment. I've taken Sensible's advice and forecast the Argyle result I want. I shall blame him if it turns out to be wrong, for two reasons. Firstly, loss of points in this forecasting competition and second, putting a jinx on Argyle. Goal time: 17 minutes.
At least the weakness of a draw hasn't tempted you notdistant. We beat the top of the league last game so can repeat the trick this game. After all if it wasn't for us WBA wouldn't be top now would they.
You are not wrong Away although you got a few more than 10. I usually use the goal time table as a quick check who's entered and who hasn't. In this case, I'd put your goal time in but the scores weren't there, so either I didn't put them in at all or I put them in after entering the goal time but then didn't save the file. Blank cells count as zeros, so it was as though you'd entered twelve 0-0 draws. Some of those will have given you points from an empty entry where the actual result was a draw. My apologies. Corrected results then:
It's the usual Friday to Sunday routine although that changes in the next round after this. Super Match is Derby County (11th, 8 points) v Norwich City (11th, 8 points). Here is the match text.
