But that would be £900k for the year, which is roughly 5% of our revenue. It's things like this which means you waste a lot of money and end up in a **** FFP position.

Let's see what he does, but no, it would be less than 500k for the year and our turnover is about 21m. Budget is closer to 30 with owner investment and sales.

It is not about politics or identity. Last 2 years, we recruited 10 players - 1 manager and 1 staff from Turkish market, that's more than 1/3 of our external recruitment, this summer we never visited it although their local players are more free to leave now. It definetely worths mentioning.

So you're saying they acknowledge the physical requirements and tactical difference between the leagues?

    Fair enough

Acun mentioned something at the car crash q/a after sacking Rosenior that he wouldn't consider Bulut for the job, even though we had no manager and Bulut hasn't been given a contract at the time.

So clearly he acknowledges there is a difference in both standard and culture, where Turkiye is less physical and more technical, and tactically the English leagues are more like chess within a game. You have to be adaptable.

I agree but this summer quite a few physically good players were available (not something common), Acun opted to add them to warm Fenerbahce bench and they are not even registered for Euro competitions, neither getting proper time in league. Oguz Aydin, Levent Mercan for example, both are EU-born (culturally more fit), Turkish and physically good players unlike Sinik.

About Bulut, he wasn't well received when he was Fenerbahce manager and mostly known for his defensive style while he was there, so I can understand after attacking intent of Acun.

They've tried to spend money on players that can increase value and sell to the premier league.

    That's where the money is.

For older, more experienced players they've prioritised experience in the league. Only anomaly to that would be Mehlem.

This strategy does not fit washed up former superstars languishing in Superlig reserves.

So maybe they've learnt from their mistakes?

Both players were overachievers actually, not former superstars like Tufan and Omur. Anyway we will see how this experience will end up this year.

I don't think this rebuild can be completed this year. It's a 2 or 3 year project in my eyes.

I have a feeling during winter transfers we are gonna spend huge money again, patience is not a known virtue of my people. I hope it ends up good, so I can visit UK again for PL games. It is been almost 10 years.

If you look at where they have put the money, it is in young talent. They are trying to make a sustainable model.

After losing Moore we signed Bedia, but there was a significant fee on the table for at least 3 different strikers on the final week this summer. One of them decided he only wanted a loan just in case Leicester got relegated, so stoke got him instead. The other 2 didn't move.

So yeah, there will be money to spend in January that we budgeted and tried to spend already.

But it's getting the ones we want to come, and not just signing anyone.

But I suspect a lot of targets would want to see how Walters style plays out, before committing their future to it.

Did you miss them playing the ball straight down the middle to Moore where he was able to be the last man while still within his own half, he then strolled all the way to our goal and if not for an overhit cross would have been an easy Sheff utd goal?

There was another case of a very near miss that I can't think of off the top of my head, but they could have easily had 4, and then once they were 2-0 up they were happy to just conserve energy.

If professionals can't see it because they're too far up their arseholes these days to see what was clear in 1987 that you can let a team over elaborate, stay compact and exploit simple forward ballsnif they're not switched on - you get what we're getting.
