WBA triple Substitution: G. Diangana, Jed Wallace and U. Račić replace Swift, Fellows and Molumby. 67 minutes.
It's not the time to press the panic button yet. Things might get worse before they get better, with Burnley away and Sheffield United at home to come . But we should start to turn the corner in October where we have more winnable games. Also we'll be able to look back and say we've already played most of the top teams and others will still have to.
Pompey's final sub: Regan Poole on for Tom Mcintyre. 76 minutes. Fratton Park on it's feet to welcome back defender Regan Poole who returns for the first time since his ACL injury he suffered last season. Brilliant reception for the man who has been on the sidelines since November of 2023.
WBA double substitution: Mikey Johnstone and Lewis Dobbin on for Karlan Grant and Josh Maja. 80 minutes.
Final whistle. 0-3. Well beaten, but we had plenty of shots on goal, but none on target We really miss Colby Bishop
Life is proving difficult at this level for us! I suppose being out of the Championship for 12 seasons is telling, unlike Derby who seem to have settled well, and Oxford suprisingly. Perhaps there is an anxiety there as chances are becoming difficult to create and convert. Our first win will come away!!
It was all my fault!!! I extended my stay in England to take in this match. So my now three Fratton attendances have resulted in three defeats. However, i am now safely back in Oz so Fortress Fratton can now resume normal duties unimpeded by my presence. A worse result than that against Sunderland but a better performance. We looked more confident in possession and benefited by playing two wingers. Indeed, after substitutes were introduced, we still had two dribbling wingers on the pitch. Dozzell also had a better game. Kamarla impressed again when he came on. He does add impetus to the midfield. On the downside he does always look likely to concede a free kick in a dangerous position - or try to dribble out from defense when it is risky to lose possession. It is difficult to know if these are features of his natural game or it is purely the result of coming on when we are chasing the game. Harvey Blair also played a brief cameo and appears to have blistering pace. Potts has yet to play. We may be relying heavily on the improvement of some of our younger players in this campaign. PUP
